West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

Within the turbulent industrial district lies this club. The warehouse doesn't look like much on the outside but it provides a memorable experience from the state of the art lighting, offbeat Victorian-inspired artwork, comfortable black leather lounges, and the infamous 'black light' room. There is a wide variety of alcohol that lines the shelves of both of the magical and ordinary variety. It is a common stomping ground for the supernatural who want to let loose and dance the night away to the music that floods the establishment. Humans are most welcome if they dare.

i'm not ashamed of my scars, i'm ashamed of the world for not understanding.

Of course the woman would remember the events that he drew. She was quite impressed that he would even remember. After all there were many times when she asked him whether he recalled something or not and most of the time he never did. She would have to retell the event, almost like a telling him a story. The leopard man always did enjoy listening to stories, mostly if it involved him. She could see how the man grinned at her each time she spoke up stating what she could recall from that event. Her fingers tracing gently over his drawings quite impressed. While others may say that his drawings were childish or appalling. The lupine appreciated each one very much, impressed with such a talent. Of course the woman was quite flattered that he ended up having the drawings always be about her, focusing solely on her. It was quite weird in a way, but in the end she appreciated it all the same. Attention was something that the woman feared greatly. After all when she had the attention of her pack she was treated appallingly. Why would it be any different? Her mate had taught her, whether he knew it or not, overtime that sometimes receiving attention was a good thing. The kindness he gave her was enough to coax the woman from her hardened shell and at least see from a different perspective of what could happen if she was treated appropriately. It was noticeable in his artwork that she was the focal point. Her lupine or human image quite clear while everything else around them was blurry. There had to be a reason why he drew in this manner. All artists had a reason, even her mate. Though the reason behind it was quite endearing. Raven couldn't help, but blush, those cheeks flared a bright pink. Softly she murmured her tone sincere and light.

"You've said something similar before, but I didn't believe you. I thought...it doesn't matter now really. You were always telling the truth, I should have believed you."

There were times when she heard his broken speech proclaim that she looked beautiful or perfect. Constantly telling her that he didn't see the jagged scars that traced over the majority of her patch of pale skin. In her mind she assumed he was just telling an innocent lie to make her feel better. It didn't bother her that he would lie about such a thing. And yet he was always saying the truth. Raven couldn't accurately describe what thoughts or feelings she was experiencing. These drawings were proof of what he was saying correlating to what he saw. He was rather unique in expressing his thoughts and ideas, and that was quite the understatement. As he changed the page her eyes widen at the sudden change of artwork. This time it was watercolor and there was plenty of detail. There she could see herself sitting on a bench in the park, reading her book, watching her leopard run around on the playground with the children. Looking at the artwork she noticed the golden script the note written in Italian, words she didn't understand. However, the name of the artist was one she recognized immediately. How her mate had managed to speak with the Fae King, let alone get him to draw she had no idea. Though she didn't understand why Dorian wouldn't draw himself, after all, he had been there, that is where she first met him. As Tobias turned the page she noticed the signatures underneath various messages that came from those on Staff in the Ark, even some of the regulars. Each message was different. Some explaining what they liked about her, or the, others expressing what they thought or saw from her, and them. All messages held the same sort of phrases though, of 'good lucks' and 'well-wishes.' Though why they would all say such a thing, she had no idea. A small simper appeared her fingers slowly moved over the text, reading the words quietly to herself. That he had managed to show her that she wasn't alone was something no one had done before.

"Tobi, this was kind of you...it was kind of everyone to do this. But...I don't understand, why all the well-wishes and good lucks?"

It would seem that her answer would be eventually given. As he turned the next page she would give him a gentle kiss on his cheek, appreciating these gifts. The old book contained his drawings, Dorian's drawing, and the thoughtful messages from their friends. It all meant so much to the formerly abused woman. This by far would always be her favorite book. As his gaze went down to the book once more, she noticed Tetradore's handwriting being overlapped by Tobias' own crooked handwriting. Blue-grey eyes widened in shock, as her vision began to blur, her heart starting to increase, her heartbeat ringing in her ears. She had already written what was said, but she was far too shocked to say anything. All she did was lean in closer to his side, feeling his warmth, as the woman contemplated whether this was a dream or not. After they had their first fight the two of them admitted they would marry her one day, it was a statement she pondered if he truly understood what that promise meant. It would seem that he had. Quietly she listened to him speak his words stuttered and a bit shaky, whether it was from nervousness, excitement, or speaking in general, she was patient. It was clear Tetradore had some sort of knowing about this, after all the man was the first one to put that request on paper, it would have been nice if he told her last night that all was well. Perhaps this was the reason why her mate was quite unsteady and upset, knowing what he was going to do. Never in her wildest dreams as a child did she believe that a man would take her in, and make her his own. Even when she grew up the very idea that she would be meant for another seemed surreal. And now what was once impossible didn't seem that way at all. One tear fell, the woman not at all sad, but elated! Wiping that tear away, and knowing how to respond she leaned over him, picking up a dark blue colored pencil. Blue had always been a color they favored together. With a small smile she wrote underneath his awkwardly traced over words. Her handwriting quite flawless, as she slowly spelled out her answer, ending it with an exclamation point. Placing the colored pencil on the other side of her, she gently took his hand, placing his index finger underneath the first word of her script. Her own index finger was placed beside his own. As she spoke her tone was quite warm, gentle, but her voice did quiver just a bit partly due to anxiety and excitement, as she read what she wrote.

"I love you both, and yes â€" I will marry you...and that is an exclamation point."

The punctuation didn't need to be said, but Raven wanted to him to hear it, and well at least learn it too. After all there was never a bad moment for a lesson, especially when he took the initiative to write out his question. Blue-grey eyes looked upwards to see his own darkened eyes, looking to see if there was that hint of gold. Did his other half know? Did he see her answer? It had been so long since she had seen him, but she hoped he was happy, she hoped they were happy with her answer. A wide grin appearing on her face as she easily went in for a kiss. Her arms would gently circle around his larger form, leaning into him even more, as she hugged him. Raven was absolutely thrilled! Breaking the kiss she did not release him from the hug. She remained leaning into him as the rain continued to fall, as the lightning flashed. The purr from the thunder mixed in with the purr she could hear coming from her boyf...no â€" fiancé. It would seem Raven had a new reason why she loved thunderstorms. Tobias' proposal was unique, kindhearted, and exceptional. And she hoped her response would be just as treasured.
