I can't help this awful energy
Goddamn right, you should be scared of me
Truthfully, Tetradore had never considered himself particularly stuffy. He was well guarded, certainly, but did he truly come across so pompously prim and proper? It was a curious consideration, one that was tossed around within the man's thoughts as Malia rolled her eyes at him, uttering her own declaration that she was just the same as she had always been His head shook ever so slightly, "You are not nearly as headstrong as you used to be." She had changed from that coyote in the forest whom refused to believe that her life could be anything but what it was. The woman was far more open now, far more prone to considering things rather than simply denying. She was different...but maybe he was too. A small shrug crossed his shoulders before the feline shifted, offering instead to provide her a tour of the Ark and the fighting ring that had so clearly captured her attention. That girlish squeal of delight prompted a rumble from the back of the cat's throat, that hint of amusement decidedly clear, even despite her assurance that she couldn't become accustomed to the rocking of that boat. Oh, if only she knew how easily it became second nature.
Tetradore led the way from his bedroom, back down that familiar hallway and towards the hull of the ship. He could hear the roaring of the crowd, the Ark already clearly prone to forget the fight that had been interrupted only in favor of further bloodshed. He hardly expected that idle declaration that she intended to fight him within that ring, much less that she was equally determined to win. Unfortunately, the woman hardly seemed to understand the consequences of such a win. His status of Alpha was a precarious thing, one constantly challenged within that ring. To be beaten was to admit that he was no longer the strongest of those animals. It was hardly a position he would simply give over to his victor by choice rather than the simple fact that the Ark followed only the champion of those fights. His head shook ever so slightly as the woman declared she just wanted the bragging rights. "I'm afraid it doesn't quite work that way. If I lost to you, they would strip me of my position and elevate you weather you like it or not. It is simply the way of things here." It was, after all, exactly how Tetradore had taken his position from the previous Alpha. He had quite near decimated that polar bear that had once reigned here and likewise, the Ark's allegiance followed.
It was only once they stood upon that balcony of sorts that Tetradore so often occupied that the man's attention returned to the ring and Malia's participation within that ring. Those three rules were altogether easy to follow, those battles a show of sheer strength, ingenuity, and willpower. Though many had tried to break them before, the Ark was absolute in what it allowed to occur within those fights. Still, Malia's declaration that this was easy prompted another rumble of laughter within the cat. "All right, let's see....we have a lion, a bison....a mountain goat...?" His gaze drift over the crowd below them, his thoughts easily shifting through several of those animals he knew well they could turn into that might provide some measure of a challenge for Malia, whilst also being a nice entry to the ring and a glorious fight to watch and yet, for her first time, her choice of challenger was largely up to her.
