West

The western part of the city is often home to the poorer residents. Here there is a grunginess that permeates the town from the graffiti on the once cleaned brick buildings to the broken and unmaintained architecture. Crime runs high within the western half of town, making it the home of supernatural gangs of illicit activities. Such activities are rarely reported, however, and most residents are distrustful of individual's of authorities, and often let the powerful supernatural beings sort things out amongst themselves. Be careful wandering the Western streets after the sun falls.

She hated seeing Mira so still. Nothing about it felt right. That's what spurred her into action, shooting more arrows at the wolf, hoping to at least distract him so Mira could break whatever hold he had on her. She was surprised to find the arrows hitting home and yet still the wolf stood. Of course, there was no telling what kind of powers he housed, yet it seemed her actions did the trick. She saw Mira start to move again, jumping toward the wolf and at first she missed but then she launched herself at the wolf, this time grabbing him and lava reached out over his body. Alexis could smell the burning flesh and she winced, her nostrils burning at the smell but she turned back to focus on the wolves still coming at her, knowing Mira could handle things for now.

She launched two more arrows at oncoming wolves then threw a dagger into another as it launched at her. She was suddenly thrown to the ground by another who leapt at her from behind but as she rolled onto her back, she materialized a sword in her hand and drove it into the wolf as it tackled her. She felt its claws rake down her arms but the adrenaline kept her going. As she rolled back to her feet, she wiped the saliva from her face. At least the wolf hadn't had a chance to use its jaws. Her bow back in her hand, she shot at three more wolves before turning her attention back to Mira. A large smoke cloud had appeared around them but it didn't look harmless. She could help whimpers and choking from within the cloud and her eyes widened in shock. What was happening in there?

As the smoke finally cleared, all she could see was wolf bodies, turning human again as they died. Her gaze went to Mira automatically, wanting to make sure she was okay but the lava wolf seemed unhurt, at least from that. Her powers were extraordinary. Alexis could feel the warm blood trickling down her arms but it didn't hurt that bad and she would heal. She was filthy and tired but it was well worth it. As Mira's thoughts reached out to her own, she welcomed them into her mind, even throwing the wolf a victory grin as she nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine. Are you? I can fight when it's necessary. I wasn't going to leave you to take on all that alone." Her face sobered as Mira talked about the would have been's, just glad that she had been here to help. When Mira said that she owed her, Alexis couldn't help but smirk. "I'm sure we can think of something to even out the score." She turned her gaze back to the Ark behind her.

"But for now, I think I just want some food, a warm shower, and a bed."
