East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The Ripper

William Jack Holloway

Will was remarkably bored considering the circumstances that were dancing in front of him. Beautiful, ageless circumstances they were. Now that the Hunter had reconnected with the companion he'd adored so much during his human life, it was hard to imagine what he had done to fill the time with in the two-hundred years that he had lived without him. Now that Sebastian was back within his life, the Duke wanted nothing but to make up for all of that lost time. But he'd had a 'prior engagement' this evening, and had left Will sulking out on his own to make the best of the new city in which he'd found himself. There was something about the city that was pleasing to him. It reminded him of London in a way with the damp weather and the rows and rows of Victorian architecture. It reminded him of those mischievous days of his youth. It would be a perfect place to recreate those adventures, if only Sebastian didn't find himself 'priorly engaged'.

Sebastian had promised him a night of drowning their sorrows in booze later in the evening, but that hadn't meant that Will couldn't get a head start, he supposed. The Cat's Meow was the ideal place for the youthful looking Englishman to spend his evening. After all, the later years of his human days had been spent inside clubs of this very nature. The Duke had held enjoyment in the satirical shows. Not to mention his eternal appreciation for the delicate curvature of the female form. The burlesque show that occupied his attention tonight showed certainly more skin than he remembered. Not, of course, that he found any complaint in the slightest. Again, that female form was decidedly lovely. That, in addition to the glass of whiskey in front of him, would make this evening at least worth his while.

He'd just finished off the glass he'd purchased - continuing to slosh the ice cubes around in the glass while he watched the stage with mild interest - when the waitress appeared at his side with an identical drink. William's upper lip quirked upwards at the girl's appearance, his eyes skimming the pale exposed skin as he began to reach for the cash within his pocket. It is only once she waved a hand behind him did William's pleasant demeanor falter. His eyes collided with the beautiful redhead in the far booth, and for a moment he was given to appreciate her form before that familiar tingling seemed to reverberate within his chest. "Bloody hell," William muttered under his breath, waving away the fae waitress as his gaze lingered upon the Hunter in the far booth. "Shite."

Without thinking, the Hunter pushed himself from the booth, his eyes on the ground as he moved to get himself out of the burlesque. This had happened countless times before, and each time Will was plagued by that same overwhelming sense to flee. He knew what she was - just like him - and who she was working for - Them. And just like all the others they'd sent after him, she had one goal in mind: capturing him and using him. He should run. He should flee and get as far away from here as he could, and for one brief moment his mind considered it. It was only once he was outside and in the fresh air did the realization that he couldn't flee. He'd promised Sebastian that he wasn't going anywhere, and that alone had him halting in his tracks within that alleyway. It was only once he heard the door open behind him did his shoulders tense. "I'm not going with you. You're wasting your time."

But darling -- it's only human nature.
