Amelia truly hadn't meant to scare the young woman, so when she fell off the table and into a puddle on the ground, Amelia frowned softly. Her instinct was to reach out and lend a hand to the other, but she knew that even if she did, the other wouldn't be able to grasp her hand. That was the one drawback of astral projection, she couldn't bring objects with her, just the clothes she was wearing. If Amelia had extended her hand to the young woman and she had tried to grasp it, she would be grasping at the air, her hand moving through Amelia's like a ghost. And so, because of this, she just kept her hands to herself, watching in horror as the other fell into the puddle.
The longer Amelia awkwardly stood there, the longer she began to think that this wasn't a very good idea from the start. As a projection of herself, she didn't need an umbrella. The rain water washed straight through her and hitting the ground there her feet were supposed to be planted. She could see the wheels turning in the young woman's mind and Amelia wondered if she was processing all of this in a good way, or a bad way. There were a lot of directions this could go, and Amelia hoped it went into a good direction. After all, she was just trying to help.
What completely caught Amelia off guard was the way in which the other just nonchalantly dismissed her offer and blatantly said that it was her fault that she caused the rain. Perhaps she had a form of weather manipulation as her special ability. It would explain her statement about causing the rain, but not about her willingness to just stand there in it. "That doesn't mean you need to be out in it with no protection. You could catch a cold." Amelia didn't want to see her health suffer because she was just too stubborn to take a simple umbrella. It wasn't hard to just accept someone's kindness, but clearly it was a pride issue.
After a few moments, the other young woman had put two and two together and had determined that Amelia was not a true form standing in front of her. She had realized that she was some form of vision, projection or something of that nature. While Amelia didn't always like to be figured out, she knew it was destined to happen. "Yes, I'm actually in the car. By the way, my name is Amelia." Her voice was soft, but still held that kindness it always held. Why lie about that? Seemed silly if this girl was actually smart enough to uncover her rouse. When she apologized, Amelia smiled softly. "It's quite alright to be curious. I can't exactly come outside during the daylight hours..." She figured she would connect the dots fairly easily. It wasn't hard, after all. There was only one reason why someone couldn't come outside during the day: Amelia was a vampire.
