East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Edie hardly expected, really, that Nadya would react to her mention of the two children that were pulled so abruptly from the room. She was surprised when instead of being ignored, she was instead offered their names, which Edie immediately filed away. She would remember that later, she hoped. They were truly cute kids, and if Edie could have, she would have nodded towards Nadya at the mention of her having to think. It made sense, even if Edie couldn't figure out how to voice that at the moment. Her thoughts seemed to slosh around in her head and make her feel dizzy and confused. It was only the mention that she would understand when she had kids one day that made her smile, one that was almost entirely delirious. "Kato would love that," She said softly. "He's so good with kids, I'd love to..." She trailed off, though her mind latched onto the idea of children she might one day share with the man she loved. "Mine could play with yours. Wouldn't that be sweet?"

The notion of Frost wanting Nadya to heal her was one that Edie hardly meant as an insult, the girl frowning when Nadya seemed ruffled by the notion. She had hardly meant it to be, instead just trying to use it as a way of begging for the woman to help her. "Nadya I.." She started, ready to apologize for the slight that she had apparently gave the woman when she so abruptly found Nadya's hand on her chin. Instinctively, the girl wanted to pull back but so abruptly it was Nadya's lips on her own. Immediately, the Beta stiffened out of shock. For a moment, the girl wanted to will any energy she had into shoving the girl off of her. But then she felt that immediate rush of heat spread through her body and she could feel the healing begin to take effect.

Edie, never one to do anything half-heartedly, easily found herself moving her hand - now that it was healed enough that her arm didn't radiate with pain - to cup the girl's cheek as she returned the kiss. Half because she wanted that healing to spread through her body, and half because it felt good to kiss her. It was so easy to return that kiss, especially with the strength seeming to return to her body. In fact, the shock was entirely gone from Edie's face when Nadya finally released her, replaced entirely by a coy smirk. "I can see now why Frost was so happy when I picked him up that night," She teased, pushing herself up to a sitting position. She would still be sore for days, she was sure, and the bruising would make Kato question what had happened to her. But she was no longer on the brink of death. "You're skilled with those lips of yours."

The girl let out a soft laugh when Nadya mentioned that drink, the girl nodding readily as though it was obvious that the favor would be returned. "Thank you," She said softly, her voice serious in that moment alone. She was so aware that she wouldn't have survived had she not been healed by Nadya. Her eyes flicked upwards towards the ceiling as Nadya produced a rag. Avoiding her gaze, Edie began to clean the blood off her body. "I don't mean for this to happen," She muttered pathetically, biting her lower lip. "I was doing a... patrol. I had no idea the witch would attack me, or tie me to a chair and demand answers as to who I worked for. Which of course, I wouldn't give," Her eyes flashed to Nadya, wanting the woman to understand that the wounds she suffered tonight were out of loyalty to Frost - at least somewhat. She wouldn't, of course, tell the other woman that the apartment she had broken into belonged to the girlfriend of Nadya's brother. That seemed like a good way to get herself killed.

"It was a freak accident," She sighed, even though she knew it was anything but. "This will be the only time I ask you to do this. I..." She ran a hand through those dark locks of hers. "I... I need to heal a bit before I go home. My boyfriend will question the bruises, and he thinks that I'm a train wreck enough as it is." She offered her a tiny smile. "Can we have that drink now? It's been a rough night."
