East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

LIKE STARLIGHT INTO DAY
A COLD WIND ON YOUR SHOULDER

Her tail lashed against her side, the only major movement she made. The door, she knew that it was called such, moved. She tensed, waiting, the crack that followed made her cower against the cool metal. Ears twitching to catch anything approaching, the door finished its slamming, her heartbeat increased and her gaze went to the light spilling into the van.

The other caught her eye. Female, older, adult. Foreign. Her lips peeled back, flashing needle-sharp canines as her body tenses again. She shifts her body weight, juvenile muscles shifting beneath her darkened coat. Her gaze focuses on the door again, on the light that taunted her just beyond reach. But she was used to darkness, used to having the lights out and living in the shadows. But she had seen a glimpse of stars, something she had seen once before in her young life. Her handler had felt bad, had taken her when she was a smaller cub to the grasses near the facility.

She longed to see them again.

The other females voice echoes to her and she twitches an ear towards her, she had no control over her own telepathy, the gift that seemed to strain to escape into the streets instead of focused. Kuka? Her telepathy booms out towards Nadya, a foreign word, but her head is tilting to the side in curiousity.

She remembered her, what they called them, littermates but they were unrelated as they called to each other. As they comforted and snuggled together as small cubs. But this female was not, but she was similar to her. Just...not.

She pushes off the wall, the collar reflecting off the light and throwing its glare against the truck bed for a moment that Corr's eyes were riveted on it. She slapped a paw down onto the light to see if she could catch it but then it was gone and her attention was fixated on Nadya. Who? She tries again, the telepathy echoing out of the truck bed, and, as if she could sense the threads in the air she turns her nose up to follow it.
Careful footsteps take her closer to Nadya, a quick shake of her head rattling the tag pierced through her ear, the number 317 suddenly visible before it shifts again. She pauses, as soon as she gets within a foot or so, too intelligent eyes take in the warped cage before her body begins to tremble.

Who?
