The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

With one hundred floors and a 125-foot spire, the Starlight Tower rises high above the Sacrosanct skyline. More than just a landmark, the Starlight Tower offers a unique mix of restaurants, shops, and offices spaced throughout the building. Organized into nine verticle zones, each of which features a sky lobby and a light-filled garden atrium which merge the upscale interior with a faux landscaped exterior setting.
Her night shifts at the hospital were surprisingly busy as of late. The petite Asian woman would stay busy and not realize it was time for her to go until she was sent packing off with all her gear in tow. Tonight, was not one of those nights. It was obnoxiously slow; though, she was grateful that people were safe for at least one night â€" she could only do so much on a slow night at the hospital. In turn, the doctor was sending her home far earlier than her shift dictated. Shrugging, she gathers her belongings, thanking the doctors and fellow nurses before she exits the building into the chill night. Wrapping her scarf about her neck, she slings her messenger bag over her shoulder, thankful she had changed out of her scrubs before leaving. Her scrubs didn't have hardly any protection in the cold; now she's clad in jeans, knee high boots, and a petty coat, her dark hair unbound in loose curls falling to her waist.
Tucking her nose into her scarf, she shoves her hands into her pockets to ward off the cold. Perhaps she should have brought a hat. Sighing, she begins her long trek home, enjoying the silence of the early morning; she's pleasantly surprised that her movement is warming her body. Humming along, she moves quickly through the streets, taking several alleyways as shortcuts until she reaches her apartment building. Throwing herself inside, the warmth envelops her as she begins the trek up the stairs. Her building was far too old to have elevators, though she didn't really mind. It was only difficult when she had to make multiple trips for groceries.
Not soon after she begins climbing the stairs, she reaches her front door, pulling her keys from her bag, she almost fits in the lock before she hesitates. She wasn't ready to sit down for the day. Shoving her keys back into her pocket, she looks both ways down the hallway deciding what she wanted to do. It was too early to do anything. Perhaps she would watch the sunrise. Making her way back to the stairs, it takes her a moment to figure out where the rooftop exit was, but as she does she opens the door, on surprisingly silent hinges. The cold air kisses her cheeks as she tucks her nose in her scarf again. She's tempted to head back to the warm confines of her apartment; instead, she squares her shoulders and finds a brick on the ground nearby to prop the door open.
The last thing she needed was to be locked on the rooftop.
Miyako puts her hands in her pocket again as she rounds the corner, halting as a shadow lingers on the edge of the building, legs thrown so casually over the edge. She's debating on turning right back around and heading back inside as that figure is considerably large and a man. Miyako very nearly steps back before his words stop her in her tracks. Cringing, she's surprised at how he knew she was there, she was being so quiet! Still, she moves forward, a bit timidly, her hand gripping the strap of her messenger bag as she peer over the edge. Scuttling back a few steps, she raises a hand to her chest. It was so high! "Please don't jump," she says a bit quietly, her heart hammering in her chest.
