East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Sebastian Ellingtonfor pleasure seldom has a cure

Those softened words of reassurance hardly served to calm the tremulous waters of Sebastian's worry, even if there was naught a hint of hesitation within the young woman as she turned to face the entrance of that alleyway he'd so attempted to flee within. His lips pressed together ever so slightly and yet, Sebastian found himself almost trusting the young woman. After all, that confidence surely did not come unwarranted. She seemed so steadfast in that fight to come, her thoughts clearly turned inwards and yet, Sebastian's navy gaze simply watched her in an almost inquisitive fashion, the man willing to offer some suggestion for those snakes and yet, even he was not prepared for the true extent of her affinity. Those creatures that were summoned into existence at her mere whim were wholly....terrifying. The dragon's sheer size and lashing tail left Sebastian simply staring with his mouth partly opened in awe, that distinctly British phrase falling from his lips in that clear moment of disbelief. He was oblivious of that simper that crossed her features in that moment, his gaze instead shifting between the three men that stumbled into that alleyway and the beast that now was set before them, hardly surprised by the fashion in which even they seemed to hesitate at the face of that majestic monster.

That uncertainty even upon them was but momentary, however, before that leader so stepped from their ranks, issuing his own orders with a certain sort of smugness even upon his features. It made Sebastian shift uncomfortably within his own position - were they truly that determined to have him? To face even a dragon to capture him and bring him back to Italy? It was nearly uncharacteristic, the way he bit his bottom lip as he tentatively stepped closer towards the woman he'd ensnared, that borderline fear was enough to prompt the man to utilize his other affinities upon her if that simple love he'd infected her with proved to be insufficient. His gaze shifted quite abruptly at that crack of stone, the vampire merely watching that stone overtake that flesh, so rendering those snakes that nipped at his heels utterly useless. "Shite." That word was utterly softly on Sebastian's lips, his gaze shifted towards the woman as she merely stared at him unflinchingly, that melodic voice so speaking volumes of her lack of interest. Unfortunately, Sebastian himself saw little of the fight that was to come, the man given only to eye the near lumbering man as he charged them before something, or, more correctly, someone pulled him from behind, sending even the steady figure of the vampire stumbling at that touch of silver upon the flesh of his neck.

That hiss that left his lips was quiet as his fingers immediately reached up for that chain, near tearing it from his flesh only to find himself turning to face the features of that one soul he'd so warned her of. The man and his speed eternally seemed to thwart the vampire, even as those red ribbons so blossomed in his fingertips once again. They struck out at the man, though Sebastian was hardly surprised to find them hit naught but air, that speed so thwarting him once again as he so tentatively took a step back and away from the vampire temptress. His gaze shifted briefly towards her, just long enough to notice that stone man had stopped his movement towards her. Thank goodness. It was ridiculous really, here Sebastian was concerned for his very life and yet, that protective nature within still found himself checking on that nameless woman he'd temporarily claimed as his own. It was the presence of a fist from his periphery vision that caught the vampire's attention, his own reflexes kicking in to step out of the way of that punch before that man disappeared once again. The hunter reappeared several times, those attempts at hand to hand combat so thwarted by the crimson of his threads, to the point that the Hunter, in his frustrated, had become quite keen to so wield that silver chain more akin to a whip of sorts, demanding far more of his attention then before. It took particular concentration to ensure that metal didn't touch his skin, the man decidedly thankful for the outfit he'd chosen today, the longer sleeves the only protection he had from that silver.

It was those screams that saw Sebastian pause, the Hunter had vanished once again, giving him but the briefest of reprieves only to find his gaze had turned towards the young woman he'd so ensnared. His eyes widened ever so slightly at the sight of that dragon eating one of those men, the other still stuck within that place upon the ground in front of her with a look near akin to utter terror on his features. Frankly, he couldn't blame him. That distraction, however, had provided that Hunter with the exact opening he needed, appearing behind the Englishman in those moments only to pull a silver tipped stake from the depths of his own clothing. Sebastian heard that shifting of fabric just a hair too late, the vampire turned quite at that moment that the Hunter plunged that piece of wood into his back, piercing flesh more akin to butter in fashion that even had him near gasping for breath. That pain was the first thing that filled his system, followed near immediately by that sense of panic. No! He could not simply die here! Dorian needed him! She needed him! His body shuddered as his legs gave out, the ground rushed towards him as he fell, his hands caught the weight of his physique as the vampire simply focused, quite peculiarly, on breathing. That oxygen was hardly necessary and yet, it gave him something to focus on in the wake of that pain that tore through his system before, slowly, the realization came to him that he was, well as much as he still could be, alive. It had missed his heart - though just barely.

He could hear her voice calling to him, just as he was aware of that bulging of that piece of wood in his chest, the hunter had grabbed that hilt that still protruded from his back, clearly intending to strike again now that he too realized what Sebastian himself already concluded. He had another chance at life. In truth, the vampire despised killing, those lives he'd been responsible for taking haunted him - each and every one of them. Even with that knowledge of what he was going to do, he could hardly help the regret he felt as those crimson threads so encircled the man's wrist, keeping him within the vampire's grasp in that singular moment. They encircled the man's arm, moving steadily down his body to encompass him in a mummified fashion before those ribbons, at his command, so effortlessly constricted. Those bright blue eyes watched as he leaned against the side of the alley as that body so began to writhe in an effort to escape that near bone crushing pressure the vampire now applied to his form. That body slowly began to still before blood began to seep from those ribbons, pooling around him. A soft breath left his lips as he leaned against that wall, his voice decidedly soft in that moment as he uttered, "I'm here." He knew well the clack of her heels would find him soon enough, just as the vampire was aware of that hunger that had begun to claw at his throat, nearly demanding that blood in order to heal from that murder attempt that still protruded from his back, even as he lifted his hand up and over his shoulder in an effort to grab at that stake. That had been far too close for his liking.
