The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Malek Ackerman
You're my water. You're my wine.
A wry grin toys at Malek's lips as he regards Petra while she speaks about him chasing bunny rabbits through the night. He can't help but release a humored chuckle and offering a small shrugs of sorts, "Rabbits are merely my preferred choice but they are hard to come by in the city. Don't get me wrong I won't turn away from a bit of a fight, I've hunted lions and bears before, I've even hunted shark, though I don't recommend ever feeding off any type of fish, their blood is rather thin," he comments drawing memories up from centuries ago. As their conversation turns toward the unique coven he studied for a time, a bit of excitement dances in his steely eyes as he explains his tale.
He's pleasantly surprised that she doesn't openly scoff at him, but asks questions instead. Tilting his head slightly, his brows raise delightedly. "I find that feeding off our own kind is a rather intimate thing. Something I have never done before and I doubt I ever will," he shrugs again before continuing, "I will admit, they didn't trust me at first, it took me months before I could even be within their territory. They seemed to be rather curious about me as I was of them so eventually they allowed me in, though they didn't share anything worthwhile, just what they called themselves. They hardly seemed any different than any other vampires I've met except for their food source. I had hoped it might have been some sort of religious culture they followed. Though, they did have a very strong bond between them. There was hardly any arguing and they had a fierce protectiveness with each other, I think somewhere in their mind they allowed their predatory nature take over."
He finishes allowing his mind to briefly wrap up in the memories. He might attempt to seek them out again, it was an odd experience, yet, Malek only managed to eat snake while visiting. If he never had to see snake again he would be a happy man for the rest of his immortal life. As their conversation begins to shift again he can't help but allow that boyish smile to dance upon his lips again as she replies to him, "Ah, but it's so much more satisfying when you don't," he responds in turn.
Finally, the human, topless woman is running from the bar and if he hadn't been privileged to see just what Petra had done, it might have been a rather disturbing experience for the other patrons, yet none look too concerned as they returned to their drinks and dancing. Nodding in agreement at her words, his eyes shift back to Petra, polishing off his drink as he listens to her speak to him. He pauses for a moment, a light simper toying at the edges of his lips as he debates on what to tell her as her hand comes to rest on his shoulder in their close proximity. Arching a brow at her briefly, he pauses for only a moment before he responds, "I have a bit of a free spirit, I enjoy traveling and immersing myself in other cultures. Studying the history of this world just to see how accurate it is and the history of the world before I was born. To me that is enjoyable," he says casually before standing up from his stool.
"I think a break from this noisy bar is in order, would you care to join me outside? You can tell me what you enjoy to do for fun," he smiles down at her, offering a hand to escort her outside the side door and into the alley where the smokers are leaning against the wall.
You're my whiskey. From time to time.
