East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Malek Ackerman

You're my water. You're my wine.

As their conversation draws to a close, Malek stands, stretching his lengthy limbs and extending his hand, curious to see if Petra would accompany him outside. A faint smile tugs at his lips as she places her hand in his. Slowly pulling her to her feet, he merely places her hand on the crook of his elbow to escort her outside, noting absently her comment about showing him what she enjoys doing. Perhaps the man should be wary of the vampire, though he isn't, he's merely curious about her. It was rare that he managed to have a conversation with another one of his kind that wasn't hopping at the chance to tear his throat out.

Mal was aware of that darkness that lingered at the edges of Petra and instead of being cautious of it, he chooses to simply ignore it.

It doesn't take them long to weave through the crowd, deftly avoiding the flailing elbows and knees of the dancers, most of them human. It was rather intriguing how uncoordinated humans were; and breakable too. Leading his fellow vampire outside, the cool air kisses his bare skin as the throb of music lessons when the door swings shuts behind them. Smoke tickles his nostrils as his head tilts to the side to note the few smokers standing around, quietly gossiping to themselves, though one man takes his interest as the stranger blatantly stares at Petra. The gentleman in him screamed to do something but Malek holds his tongue instead, he's certain the woman at his side wouldn't appreciate him interfering on her behalf, plus, he was certain she could take care of herself.

Her soft voice floats about his ears as he glances down at her, that faint smile still tugging at the corner of his lips. Giving her a small nod of his head, he follows her deeper into the shadows, the darkness obscuring them from sight. When she stops, Malek does as well and simply looks down at the rabbit that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. He was certain it was game. This woman was nothing but a game. When she encourages him to take a bite, but to save some for her, there is a hesitation in him that there wasn't before. The woman didn't seem like the 'kind' type, he was entirely convinced she had something up her sleeve. What it was, he still wasn't sure.

Narrowing his eyes at her, if only slightly, he allows that half smile to remain as he crouches down, the rabbit completely unafraid of him. Strange. Perhaps Petra's powers extended farther than he was aware. Glancing over his shoulder at the grinning woman, he snatches the rabbit gently and brings the unresisting animal to his lips. Cautiously, he inhales silently and sinks his teeth into the warm flesh. The moment the blood rushes into his mouth Malek notes immediately something is wrong, very wrong. Somewhere buried deep in his mind was his conscious telling him to drop it, to run. A warning he hadn't heard from himself in centuries.

Eyes closing in ecstasy, his nostrils flare as a groan of pleasure emits from deep in his throat, pushing away that voice that kept telling him no. Letting his eyes open to slits, it's like the fog of the illusion is gone, the rabbit gone, and instead an unconscious woman before him, his teeth sunk into her wrist. Gone is the gentlemanly Malek. That first taste of human blood unleashed the beast that so prowled under his skin, kept under lock and key for centuries. Dropping her wrist, he snakes his arms around her body pulling her closer so he has easy access to her neck. Brushing the hair away, he notes the fluttering of the pulse beneath him, his eyes hooded in pleasure as he bends forward and sinks his teeth into her again.

So delicious. Such softness.

Why did he stop doing this?

Animals never had the same affect! Again, a moan of pleasure as he continues to drink her blood, that warmness trickling down his throat, warming the rest of his body. At this point in time, Malek is completely unaware of his companion, he knows only how hungry he is. He continues to drink unhurriedly, though what felt like hours of pleasure was only minutes in comparison. Dropping the limp body to the ground, disappointed the woman didn't offer him more, he stands, finally remembering Petra behind him. Turning towards his fellow vampire, he grins at her seductively, the blood still dripping from his chin as he makes no move to wipe it away. Unconcerned about the dead human lying in the shadows behind him.

Quick as a snake, he darts forward and pins Petra against the wall, his hips holding her in place as he places a hand on either side of her head. Grinning dangerously down at her, he leans forward slightly, "Let's play, Petra," he purrs at her seductively, acutely aware of how very close he was to her now. The vampire felt high or drunk, he wasn't sure which, what he did know was he was hungry and he was insatiable.

You're my whiskey. From time to time.
