The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

As she inspects his fangs, her mind churns with the different mental illnesses that she could place Arlo in. Miya went even as far as mentally listing departments she could take him to, doctors that would benefit him in the long run. Though, she was certain she didn't need to forcefully admit him into a psych ward, he seemed to be surviving on his own just fine. As she steps away and lowers a hand to her hip as a seriousness begins spreading across her features. When Arlo responds to her she's not entirely surprised as she had dealt with mental patients at a much higher caliber before. She knew she would be walking a thin line with this conversation; she didn't want to worry him that she would turn him into a hospital.
Sighing heavily, she offers a small smile, "No, of course not," she replies without missing a beat. Of course, she thought he was insane but that was the first thing you learned whilst working in a hospital; you never told your patients they were crazy. Dropping the subject quickly, she turns from Arlo and asks for the salt and pepper as she begins stirring the stew again. The spices finding their way into her hand she begins to season the food generously, humming a tuneless tune all the while.
It was her name on his lips that had her slowly turning around, a brow arched in concern. It only took her a moment to find that knife in Arlo's hand, her body going taught with apprehension. Realizing too late that he planned on using it with the intention of hurting himself has Mi releasing a gurgled cry as she lurches for him, entirely forgetting to release the pot as the hot stew falls to the ground, the pot clanging loudly, and the liquid splattering her leg with a burning sensation. Entirely ignoring the burns that surely ran the length of her leg, her eyes lock on the bloody wound upon his hand unable to look away. As she finally reaches him, she faintly notices he had thrown the knife away. "Arlo! What the hell is wrong with you?! Are you crazy?!" Her voice takes on a shrill note as she reaches for his hand not noticing the coldness from his body.
Instantly her mind is on red alert as she filters through the required material, if she had the necessary equipment in order to patch him up, if he needed surgery. Miya is hardly aware of Arlo calling her name and telling her to settle down, it's only when he grabs her wrist as she turns to spin away to rush and grab a towel to stop the bleeding. "Let go! You need medical attention no-," she's abruptly cut off at his insistence that she look as his hand. Realizing that no matter how hard she struggled to get out of his grip he wasn't letting go. After an internal struggle, she finally glances down at his hand.
What she sees has Miyako racking her brain for how. She can feel her brain practically melting in her head. In all her years in working in a hospital she had never seen anything like this. His skin was re-growing and reattaching as if it were magic. Her face goes slack in disbelief and even after there is nothing left but a light pink line and blood on his hand she continues to stare. Her name brings her back to reality if only barely. Slowly lifting those chocolate eyes to his, she scowls at him in silence. "You drugged me. You had to of. This... this is not possible. That's it... I'm just high or... drunk," her voice cracks on the last word as she falls to the floor pulling Arlo down with her, her legs seemingly giving out.
She felt that hysterical laughter bubbling up but she squishes it down and instead tries to understand why the room was spinning. "Arlo... what did you do to me? I mean... really, what did you-," her voice cuts off as she feels her body sway dangerously. Clutching onto Arlo's wrist tightly, she stabilizes herself before looking back at him, "What did you do to me?" she snaps at him, her eyes turning hard and slightly accusing.
