East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

She couldn't read much into either of the men sitting with her at the bar. The man who sat right next with her with the strong accent seemed nice enough. She figured he was trying to be nice anyway by buying her a drink before he'd even met her. It was a bad drink, but that didn't make the gesture any less nice. The man on the other side of him however kept his hoodie up and while Malia was usually the first to admit she was cold and try to bundle up everywhere she could, she was beginning to find it a little irritating that she couldn't see his eyes or read his facial expression. It was funny how she was beginning to rely more on that in her human form. She already knew a lot about body language but humans were more funny with it than animals. They sometimes chose not to show a damn thing with their bodies but everything could be seen in their face muscles and their eyes. But finally the man did remove his glasses so at least now she could see his eyes. She wasn't sure she trusted the man. He had a grin on his face like she had said something funny but the way his eyes traveled along her body gave her a funny feeling in the pit of her stomach.

It was like he wanted her to see it, too, which made it worse. He made sure to take off his glasses and he wasn't trying to hide the fascination he had with her as he looked her up and down. She didn't know whether that should be taken as a compliment or an insult. She was still so confused on things in the human world. Coyotes didn't care much about looks in the wild. It was about your strength and your attitude. So the fact that humans did things by who they were attracted to, look wise, just threw her all off kilter. Sure, she could see how some people were better looking than others and she wouldn't deny that she grew attracted to some more so than others, but it was still downright confusing. When the man next to her made the comment about calling him cutie, the grinning fellow told him he didn't swing that way but he had a number for someone who did. She tilted her head, one brow arching as she turned to the man beside her with the strong accent. "What does he mean, swing that way? What does that have to do with flirting with a man or a woman? Our arms are pretty flexible so you can probably swing in many different differents if that's what this is about." She scowled thoughtfully.

The grinning fellow turned back to her after taking a drink, asking what she preferred and then he started listing off names. She took another sip from her drink as she considered before she gave a brief shrug. "Well, most people just call me Malia so I don't know that I'd answer very well to any of those." Her brows furrowed when he mentioned taking her home tonight. "Why would I go home with you? I've got a place to stay." Then it was like a light went off and her eyes widened a little. She smirked proudly. "Oh, wait! Is this how you invite someone to mate with you? Wow, I didn't think it was so forward and corny. Can't you just someone if they want to fuck you? It seems less confusing." She thought for a moment before she added. "Oh, and no thanks, by the way, if that is what you're doing. I don't even know you." She shrugged like it made all the sense in the world. Maybe other humans could go home with someone after just meeting them but she didn't have that much trust in the human race to begin with. When she told them that she couldn't see how they drank the strong liquor, the grinning fellow told her it was about age and brand. She scowled. "But I don't even know how old I am. And what's a brand?" She still had so much to learn about the human world.

She noted the way the man next to her kept putting his hand on his head. He would get a look in his eyes like he wasn't feeling well. Her brows furrowed with concern. "You okay? Does your head hurt or something?" It seemed only polite to ask. She couldn't very well just ignore it. She listened as the man next to her told the other that he didn't take numbers and he liked meeting face to face. She smirked a little. She could agree with that. "Besides, what are you going to do with a number, right?" She rolled her eyes like she completely got it. She had no clue what they meant by numbers. Did every human get a number assigned to them or something? Can you punch that in somewhere and find someone? Man, she had so many questions. The man next to her chuckled when she talked about the drink being too strong. He said he had a knack for it and it was in his blood. She scowled. "How did it get there? I thought it went to your stomach." These guys were really taking her for a loop tonight. But maybe she would learn a few things along the way.

The guy then turned to the grinning fellow, telling him he was abrasive and then comparing him to a rose. She arched a brow curiously. Was that another compliment? Cause she thought roses were pretty. But he said good to look at and not to touch. She scowled again at the comment, thinking on it for a minute before she looked at the man with the strong accent. "What happens when you touch him? Does it hurt?" There had to be something more to this.
