East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Ludo couldn't help but feel that the pendant was somewhat significant with how carefully Raven cradled the thick etched metal in her scuffed-up hands. He examined Az for any sort of expression that might deem the circular amulet important but to no avail did he see any interest seeping from Azrael's eyes. All Ludo could identify in his expression was a sort of irritancy as he subtly kept checking his phone for a response. "Are you in the middle of something? We can let you go if you need to step away for a moment," Ludo stated as his eyes danced from Az's annoyed face to his phone. Azrael had started speaking towards Raven about some sort of testimony and an incident seemingly between Raven and the council. Without a pause Raven expressed her disdain with the lack of initiative taken by the council regarding improvement on the relationship between Dark Hunters and other supernatural beings. It was like watching a ball being served back and fourth on a tennis court. Both seemed that their points were entirely more valid than the other person's, and all Ludo could really do was listen from the sidelines and absorb any information he could extract from their casual back and forth banter.

"So, this council," Ludo spoke as he was deep in thought. "Are you speaking of a council that runs throughout Sacrosanct only or, do you both speak of the high council that includes all countries?" he interjected, leaning into the conversation more as his eyes bubbled with curiosity. As the banter between the hunter and were slowly fizzled out, Az spoke last of it by stating he would do what he could when it came to find out who had murdered the older shapeshifter. It didn't seem Raven was satisfied with this being the final statement, as she soon questioned who was this "Frost" guy's owner. Owner?Ludo had heard of Dark hunters and vampires being attached to their creators but never necessarily for any shape shifters. This Frost character seemed to be the kind that Sacrosanct would be better off without. I wonder if I should mention him to my fatherLudo thought inwardly as he tapped his fingers on the bar counter. Azrael was quick to shut her down as he abruptly warned her to not be involved with the man who almost tried to murder her. As he looked away from her to end the discussion, Ludo watched Raven sink right back into her thoughts, almost robotically rubbing the amulet now as her gaze was far past their conversation.

Into their somewhat normal conversation Ludo grew to respect Azrael more, especially when he spoke of his disinterest in involving himself with others who haven't committed crimes. "That's a good mindset to be in. I've seen a lot of men grow, how do you say, uh," Ludo took his pointer finger and rubbed his temple, concentrating to try and find the right words, "ah, impatient, of super naturals who are on the verge of committing crimes. "There are big problems in Italy now with Dark Hunters being independently contracted out to take care of problems before they start." Ludo gazed right at Azrael, wondering if this was some information he already knew. As they continued talking about where to find great Italian food, Az asked about the Aragona security quite obviously in which Ludo's immediate response was, "No, I do not work for the king's royal protection. That is a bit too, aristocratic for my family's business." He half listened to Azrael speak of the king's presence in town which Ludo admittedly had zero interest in. His line of work wasn't that high of rank, nor did he care for "celebrities" of his home. It was just another uninteresting tabloid article he would have to hear about from his mother and her excitement on the upcoming wedding. Wasn't the king getting married to a man, or something like that? Ludo questioned trying to recall the fuzzy memories of his mother's speeches on new magazine articles she read aloud every time he called her on the phone.

After Az briefly mentioned for Ludo to apply to a position on the council Ludo proceeded to shake his head. Reaching out his palms and nodding his head back and fourth Ludo spoke courteously, "I'm sorry, I work for my father and soon I am to take over the business, so my hands are tied. Thank you for the offer though mio fratello (my brother)." Without wanting to further discuss the details of his father's business he asked if Raven was a part of the council. He wasn't sure how it worked here vs. Italy. If it was the same council though, he had just made a complete fool out of himself by asking if another super natural being was involved in it. Chuckling at his own slip up, he continued hearing Azrael speak about how him and Raven had mutual friends as he watched them awkwardly glance at one another. He could tell that Azrael admittedly had somewhat of a soft spot for Raven. Ludo wondered why her out of all people. It wasn't that Raven was bad, it was just that their personalities seemed to clash way more than they seemed to lead on. Ludo could tell there was something deeper that tied these two together but who was he to pry? It's not like it was his business anyway.

Reemerging back into the conversation at hand, Ludo chattered with a warm tone stating how he was here scouting out the area to move his father's business to. "I feel like a city is a prime location for a bachelor as well," he jokingly smirked. "Really though, I wanted to find a place to call my own. Even though leaving my family behind was hard I believe it is worth it in the end," he stated, trying to convince himself. Truthfully, he had just moved here for his father's work and nothing more. He went where the work was fruitful. Especially with how many people on his father's list resided in the city. It seemed Sacrosanct was a cesspool for dark figures that lurked about. "What about you both?" He positioned himself to face between Az and Raven. "What are your plans?" he asked with a raised eyebrow and positioned himself back into the bar stool as he sipped his new glass of scotch.
