The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Arlo James
See what it's like to be a vulture's lunch
Damon, he had decided, had maybe the best 'look' Arlo had ever seen. His own lip had barely curled back from his fangs in that subtle display of irritation when Damon's eye simply raised in that rather clear 'try me' gesture. Arlo promptly putting those fangs away as his arms folded across his chest with an irritable huff. He did not want to 'try' anything in front of Damon not after that, what did he call it? Negative reinforcement? He was right, Arlo knew it and yet a part of him was reluctant to admit that all the same, or that Damon's idea had been helpful even if it...sorta had. Still, there had to be another way right? One that didn't involve electrocuting him. Even if it had been effective. Arlo content to sulk in that moment, childish though he knew it was. The last tendrils of that hunger finally dying away as those women wandered off, the man lifting one hand to run through his hair. Was Damon really doing all this because he wanted him to survive? Why? No one had ever....cared that much before? He had to want something right? They always did, in the end. Maybe it was better not to ask tonight. Arlo sure he was going to be seeing rather a lot more of Damon whether he wanted too or not. The other vampire so having taken up that role as one of his mentors of sorts. Even if the younger vampire was hardly sure he enjoyed his...methods.
His bright blue gaze glanced sideways then as Damon spoke about that hunger he knew controlled him. He was right. Damon was goddamn right and yet it was so bloody hard! He knew he needed to pay attention when he was feeding and he tried too...mostly. God how he hated it when someone tried to take that food though. Some almost feral part of him bristling even now. No one had told him this when he became a vampire, no one had told him he was forcibly being made to sign his name to some life-long contract that made him act.....like an animal sometimes. God he hated it. That sigh of sorts was forced from his lips at last at Damon's assurance awareness was the only thing going to keep him alive. Arlo, it seemed, largely oblivious to how useful his own venom truly was, let alone those other powers, the man hardly having considered himself in the way Damon had.
"Yeah, yeah, your right, bud. I know you are."
He took another sip of that drink then, Arlo admitting to those things he'd been told before. That eventually he'd grow out of that almost constant hunger, or at least, he'd learn to control it better. Just like he'd been told that, one day, he'd like that human food again- or at least want to try it. It was something to hope for right? Hell, he'd made some progress. He didn't attack anything and everything in sight anymore. He did have some control. He'd taught himself enough to survive in the least, even if only just. Damon assuring him he wasn't about to grow out of that habit any time soon. Why the hell did everything have to be so hard?
"You know, sometimes, I'm not sure this vampire shit is all it's cracked up to be."
What that was supposed to mean even he didn't know. Arlo draining the last of that drink then before turning his attention back to Damon with that query of a ride home and that assurance he didn't need any more lessons for tonight, right? The other vampire assuring him that depended on him. Arlo mostly sure he was finished for the evening, at least, he was full- for now. Arlo moving to stand as Damon did. That query as to why he didn't teleport met with a slight simper then.
"It's a cool car, alright? I like sitting in it."
He moved to follow Damon out of that club then, tailing behind the other man before nestling himself in the seat of that car. Damn it was nice. Maybe one day he could get something just as nice as this. Maybe. Arlo uttering the other man's name then, waiting until Damon turned to look at him as he started that car.
"Thanks for tonight, bud. Maybe not the electrocuting me thing, but until that point it was kinda fun. If you ever want someone to go to a bar with just hit me up. I'll leave you my number and hey, I'll leave your bar alone from now on, ok? Although if you ever get any vampires causing you trouble or anything, do you reckon you could let me have 'em?"
Was it to much to ask that he might be allowed to have those patrons Damon was only going to throw out of the bar anyway. Maybe it was akin to a dog hanging around for scraps and yet so what? Maybe Damon could throw him a bone every now and then right?
"If you ever have any....work going too....anything really, let me know yeah? I could....use the money, I guess. I mean i haven't exactly ever had a job before and i don't have like any experience in anything. I was in a band my whole life but...you know....i can probably take bins out better then that Lukas guy I ate tonight. Just saying."
