East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Malakai Kanaita

Should the truth be told, Malakai had not yet decided precisely what course of action he would take should the miscreant prove himself ever more foolish by disobeying his command to relinguish his hold upon the young woman. Really, the consideration that he would be met with any manner of physical rebuttal to his bare threat had hardly flickered across the brutish man's mind. Even this dullard had to be at least marginally smarter than that, right?

A question destined to go without an answer, apparently, any consideration of further remonstrance on behalf of the unfortunate fellow eradicated entirely with the swift flinging of a leg and a cringe-worthy collision that saw the Hawaii gentleman relinquish his grasp upon the student near instantaneously. Wordlessly does he observe the interaction that follows, the lithe woman seemingly emboldened by... something. His presence? The sudden immobility of her adversary and the concurrent and proverbial turning of the tables? Whatever it was, it was tinder to what was, from all appearances, swelling into quite the internal conflagration... evidenced by the manner in which she then turns on him.

A single brow pitches skyward at the proclamation, hazel eyes cast in the shade of a domineering glare meet hers in an unblinking and silent stare. He tests her with the weight of it for a long moment before he speaks. "That was readily apparent," he offers in a low, throaty growl. Content to abandon what had swiftly become an at least mildly inconvenient encounter, Malakai shuffles as if to depart only to be met with the pointedly thrown dart of her assumption. What a decidedly acidic tongue for someone with such an obviously thin veneer. A single tattooed hand reaches to absentmindedly scratch at his chin as if in consideration before he turns to face her fully once more. "No, what I would expect is for someone seemingly intelligent enough to become a doctor to exercise a little more wit than to put herself in this sort of situation... again." He leans in upon the delivery of the final word, thick cords of muscle pressing against the leather of the coat he wears. It was not his custom to subject a woman to the razor edge of his tongue; however, he suspected in no uncertain terms that this particular "damsel in distress" would benefit from a dose of her own medicine, as it were.

He straigthens then, casting the intensity of his gaze from the young woman before him to the sprawling alleyway that lay before them. "Now, where is it that you're going so I can make sure you get there in one piece... unless you're sure you 'have it under control'?"
