The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

I can practically watch the wheels spinning in her head. She must have so many questions. I'm almost surprised she's holding her tongue. She seems to say what she's thinking most of the time so why hold back now? Surely it can't be for my benefit. When she brings up Syn, I can't help but think about Risque. I know she would have her hands on Isla the first chance shes gets, or some guy like her. There's no telling what would happen to her. She might end up like Isolt. Just the thought makes my teeth grind. I can't let that happen. Yet it seems I shouldn't have been so hasty to judge. She looks scared at the mere thought of going in there. Her words only help a little thought. While I trust Ceara and the club she keeps, I also worry for Isla there because I know vampires and Weres are still present. I finally sigh and nod. "Good. Ceara runs a nice place." I agree, though I know Isla probably didn't know that I know the owner of the Voodoo Room. She might not be so keen to go there either though if she knew what Ceara is. She doesn't surprise me when she says that clubs aren't her thing. I smirk. I can believe that. I shouldn't have been concerned about her going to the club cause from what I've seen, she doesn't look like the clubbing type. I tilt my head in curiosity at her comments. "You can't be serious. You don't know why the men dance so close on the women? Were you raised in a Mormon village?" She can't really be serious. Surely she knows about what guys want. She has a father after all. She smiles as I lean back in my chair. When I reach my hand out, daring her to touch it, I can see her clear hesitation. She seems to debate in her own head for a minute before she warily reaches out. She seems pleasantly surprised that my hands aren't cold, a laugh falling from her lips. I smile in amusement, glancing down to watch her fingers trail softly against my palm. I had expected her to pull away rather quickly. She really is getting bold. I tilt my head. "Any time." My eyes continue to watch her intensely, wondering what she's thinking. |
