East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i'm not ashamed of my scars, i'm ashamed of the world for not understanding.

No one was promised that the life they lived would be perfect. Things just happen. Why they did she hardly knew. It wasn't fair. And yet she knew nothing ever was. There were times when she felt angry. She was furious that she had to go endure those hardships earlier in her life. Though she was livid too in the way her mate had lived his own life. Of course there were others that had a much worse life than she did, and surely there were those going through a much rougher time then she could ever imagine. Even though she knew this it didn't keep her feeling that burning desire to yell at someone, to blame some sort of invisible entity, It wouldn't solve everything. It would take away those horrifying experiences she had suffered. It was obvious that something equally as disturbing and sad occurred to the Were-Horse before her. She may not know what all occurred, but it wasn't difficult to see that he was just as broken as she was. The lupine had no reason to give him any sort of sympathy. That's not something you give to a person that nearly killed you, and killed your Alpha. Nothing, under no circumstances, was there any reason. However, for whatever reason, the wolf felt it. No matter how hard she tried she couldn't squash it. It was difficult to explain, but even more difficult to stomach it. Flinching at his cold and sharp retort, those saddened blue-grey eyes looked towards the plate of cookies she had brought over, accustomed to such a reaction from any that demeaned her. He may not want her pity, but he did deserve it.

All that empathy she felt for him vanished quickly the moment he claimed he would not assist her with the matter of her Father. That he would have the audacity to even think such a thing. Raven didn't need Frost to be involved in such a personal problem. Her Alpha was aware and she knew that the Were-Panther would do what he could to guarantee her safety. The lupine never told her mate about that night or that her Father made his return. How could she explain it to him in a way he understood? The last thing she wanted was for him to hunt her Father down. She didn't want any harm to come to any of them. The sympathy she felt was replaced by irritation and annoyance. Frost was not wanted for that. If anything she was sure that he would simply throw her towards her Father. It wasn't like her to bite back or even snap, but when it came to her Father, she was a bit more emotional about it. That he felt like she wouldn't save him was perhaps incorrect. Deep down Raven knew that if there was ever a reason, if they were ever in a situation, she would probably help him. Even though she despised him greatly, for whatever reason, be it because they were both Weres, both had a rough childhood, who knew? Raven didn't even know! All she knew was that if there was a situation and there was a chance she could help him, she would. Maybe it really was because she thought extending kindness towards others, kindness would be returned to her. It was such a naïve thing to think about or do, and yet, such hope helped define her. It didn't surprise when he abruptly declined her assistance. Munching on her cookie, hardly bothered at all, she finished eating that sugary treat. Without hesitation she firmly agreed to his terms, but with a slight change.

"$55,000, and a play a cookies, for you to tell me the truth and everything there is about the amulets, how to activate them, and I will give you one to borrow that you will return to me back in its original condition, within a week. Those are my final terms."

Blue-grey eyes would shift as she looked him directly in the eye, unwavering from her demand, of ensuring that he would be allowed to borrow the amulet for a short period of time. Whatever they did, be it important or not, she didn't want Frost to keep it forever. Seeing or hearing a sign of acceptance to her terms she reached for her neck, digging underneath the front of her hoodie, to pull just one of the three amulets she was wearing. It wasn't easy to get her wolf one back from her mate, but with some food and a bit of convincing she managed. Slowly she handed over the wolf amulet to Frost, looking at it with concern and curiosity. The sparkle from her engagement ring flickered underneath the light as she began to nervously hold on to her fingers, twisting and turning them, her typical nervous habit. Softly she spoke declaring what she wished first.

"I'd like to know about the one that belonged to my family. I was told it's been in my pack's possession since it was first created by Talbot."
