East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

I've forgotten how it felt before...

It is a wonder at just how uncertain yet absolutely certain I am around Erik. Even though we had really only just met last night (barring the whole bar scene which hadn't been swift), I felt as if I knew Erik. No, not his past, not his purpose, but his BEING. I sensed a goodness within him even if I didn't question the fact that he had a dark past. That was a given - he was a vampire. Freshly turned vamps were notorious for voracious appetites which they had a terribly difficult time curbing. That was one fact I did know and was quite thankful for Erik being as old as he was. Despite his age, unless I actually sat and considered it, I did not think of him like that. Cultured and ancient. No, he was just Erik, with his devil-may-care smirk and smoldering eyes.

Oh, maybe I shouldn't go off on such thoughts.

When he said things along the line of keeping me safe with that soft gaze, well, it is no wonder my insides flutter and I feel like a drunk heading to my chair. Drunk on something but it sure wasn't alcohol. Not to mention his salacious comments. Honestly, was the man trying to make me melt or combust in the chair? I am not sure how to handle such flirtations so I throw words back at him. Inside I feel that high once more - he was interested in ME. That much was obvious. It was enough to make a school girl blush.

"The early bird gets the worm," I chant in a sing song voice at him as I rush to clean up in response to his statement of my fast eating. It is obvious I am ready to hit the road and get this mystery solved. I flash my green eyes over my shoulder at him with a wicked grin. "Do you think she will punish me for cleaning my own dish?" I say the words conspiratorially and a bit rebellious.

His lowered voice makes my eyes darken a bit, that flush returning, but I hold is gaze with a small, secretive smile. It falls the moment he marches to the door and I race after him, alarmed. "Erik!" I say, my voice half a gasp and half a yell as he throws open the door, takes a step out, then spins around with the sun shining right on him. I stand frozen in the hall for a moment gaping at him. I blink hard then step out on the front step as well, my body blocking the door as I face him, squinting.

"Wait, I see something." I reach a hand up and brush his slightly overlong hair to the side. "Hmm, a little bit a dust," I mused, biting back a spirited smirk. "But what do expect from a walking corpse as ancient as you, hmm?" I devilishly lift up on my toes, swift, and peck his cheek with a kiss but don't get him time to react before I slip right past him with a giggle. My neck and cheeks feel flushed at my brazen action but the swinging of my arms and hips proves I'm not ashamed.

"Well, lets be off Mr. Sunshine. I'd hate for all the fan girls to glimpse your sparkling face." I glance around towards him with an open smirk. "Might get some Twilight vibes going on," I tease, even if he doesn't sparkle. Maybe not sparkle but damn he sure looked good. "Here I was worrying for nothing, ya know. Is this a common thing with vampires?" I tilt my head a bit, walking down the sidewalk, curious.

I head north. It was there that I would find other witches to help me figure out my problem. Maybe a few other supernaturals too. A faerie would do the trick nicely, their magic not quite as limited to certain things as us mortals.
