The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

I know the minute I use the words "womanly charms" that she's going to be a challenge. Her full lips draw down in disbelief, the doubt practically oozing from those bright blues that would make any man swoon if she only knew how to use them. She doesn't see what everyone else sees. She doesn't see what I see. She only knows the awkward red head human. It's time she gets to know the vixen with the pale skin and blood red lips. I know she's in there somewhere, the daredevil with the seductress smile. I've seen it on occasion though it's been far too rare. We'll have to change that. I reach out for her hand and am honored with the cool presence of her dleicate palm in mine as I lead her right toward the guy I'd like no better than to strangle right about now for the way he keeps looking at her. I could have stayed out on the dance floor all night, just watching her let herself go, but alas she needs proper nourishment to really let her light shine. Who am I to stand in the way? I feel for her emotions as she looks up at Chaz, wishing I could read minds as well as sway them. Maybe then I'd know what she was thinking when she sees that intense stare. That way I knew if she was enjoying the attention or wanting his blood even more. I'm sure at some point in time, that look might have seen her shrivel up and jerk away as if slapped, the vulnerable human, the frail girl, the defenseless swan. And yet now she is the viper waiting to strike; she just doesn't know it yet. I note the way her eyes draw down to his neck, the jugular vein pulsing alive and strong there and my lips twitch with amusement. She's got the point. She knows what she's got to do and yet still she holds back as I expected. She still thinks of this from a human's point of view, that she will hurt him. She's not thinking of the blood she must have to live. Of course, she'll figure all that out with her first taste and I'm more determined that ever now to make him be her first. As he stretches out his hand in quick obedience of my persuassion, I draw my gaze to her. She hesitates but only a moment more before her hand slides gracefully out of mine and into his. I'm reluctant to see it go as my hand slowly falls to my side, now without purpose. Chaz's other arm moves automatically around her waist, pulling her close as they move out into the crowd and like the predator I am, I move right along with them. Like a shadow, I stay close, observing but not interfering. I want her to learn how to do this on her own. She needs to for her own survival. I can see the hunger gleaming openly in her eyes as she stares at the prize. His neck glistens like a gold trophy, just waiting to be snatched up. His eyes continue to rove her figure like a hungry wolf which draws a whisper soft growl to my own throat but I resist the temptation to act, knowing that it's only a matter of seconds before I have my satisfaction. Her fangs extend and my lips curve back in a crooked smirk. It's time. She moves her hands expertly about his shoulders, hiding what she's about to do as she leans her head down. I can hear his groan of pleasure as her lips meet soft flesh and my blood rises to a boil but it's cut off by the audible sounds of her fangs sliding into the skin as she gets her first taste. He doesn't struggle as I advised him not to, his body staying curled around hers like a sensual embrace. It doesn't irk me so much anymore, not now that I know he's giving her the one thing I cannot, fresh human blood straight from the source. It's almost like a proud moment for me, knowing that I'm teaching her how to survive, teaching her what it is to be a vampire. I can hear the blood rushing down her throat as she takes big gulps, like the starving creature she is and I move ever closer, just over his shoulder now because I know she will need my help not to kill him. Instinct has taken over, her grip tightening even as his starts to relax as the strength leaves his body. I move up behind him, my arms reaching up to support him so that it looks like he's passing out and I'm just the good friend there to catch him. Yet my eyes never leave her, wanting to make this moment count because if he dies, she'll never forgive herself. I can fele his heart slowing and I know that she needs to stop now so I reach up with one arm while the other snakes under his arms to hold him up. I gently draw her hair back out of her face so I can see her eyes, willing them to meet my gaze as I talk to her in a soothing voice yet one that demands attention. "Isolt, I need you to stop now. You need to let go because you're killing him. You don't want to do that. I know you don't. Let go. Trust me." Even as I say the last words, I gently pull back on him, giving her more leverage to draw back. Even as I do, I move my shoulder up to take the place of his neck, a whisper aimed for her alone. "Wipe your mouth on my shirt before you pull back." My arm snakes around her to pull her close so she doesn't pull back first. The room is still mostly dark here but I don't want to take any chances on anyone seeing blood on her mouth. They might think it's a prank or ketchup or something but again, not a risk I'm willing to take. Not with her. I'm willing to do whatever it takes to pull this off because she needs it to. If it were anyone else, I'd say screw the humans and let's eat them all. This would become a scream fest and we would dance around ripping out hearts and partying it up the way I used to do. But I can't be that guy, not around her. For her sake, this has to be discreet and no one can die because otherwise, I know it would kill her and I can't take that risk. |
