East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Chizue was entirely aware of how that colossal head pressed into her dainty palm, that glimpse of contentment clear within the polar bear as his nutmeg eyes closed at the simple sensation of her fingers kneading his ivory fur. It was unfortunate, perhaps, that their current predicament didn't allow for tranquil moments such as this, the very knowledge of the hunters in the fog pressed upon the girl, causing her to move away from him despite the sound of protest he presented her with. It was, after all, of utmost importance to the woman that she should shepherd them both to safety. She bounced quickly up the stairs to her townhome only after requesting the large bear stay for those few fleeting moments she needed to get to the other side of the gate. The wooden entryway all but creaked in the silence of the evening and yet, with the smallest of gestures, the large bear seemed more than willing to be coaxed in that narrow passageway to her rather small backyard. His own frame was all but massive, forcing the slender woman to press her whole frame against the cold, plastic siding of her home as he squeezed into her backyard. His fur ticked as it pressed against her skin and yet, that peculiar sensation hardly lasted long before he was free in the depths of those fenced walls. Near immediately, the woman shifted to refasten the gate, closing off her little haven away from the threatening eyes of the world.

A small simper crossed her features at her own success of, at the very least, getting them this far. It was, perhaps, naive of the young woman to view this as safety and yet, she did all the same. Chizue moved away from the gate, her own chocolate eyes instead turning towards the porch as she considered their escape into the home, particularly considering the very closeness of those voices. Her head reached out to brush against the bear's head, altogether aware of that sudden tenseness within him, much less the way that colorful aura around his large frame seemed to shift with every closer step the hunters made. Slowly, Chizue's finger rose to her lips in that near-universal gesture for silence. That silence that fell around them was so abrupt that it caught even the demure vampire off guard. There was a sort of etherealness to it, the kind that caused the hair upon her arms to raise by the peculiarity of it. It took her a moment to realize that she couldn't even hear her own breath, that panic almost threatening to seize her before Chizue too realized that, even so, she was most certainly still breathing. Her eyebrows furrowed as she eyed the polar bear in front of her, the girl certain that this must be his own doing. It was unexpected and yet, she rather welcomed that power all the same. Chizue watched as his massive jaws opened, her own chocolate eyes almost seemed to widen in horror before that sound seemed to echo...somewhere else. It was, even she was willing to admit, a particularly useful trick.

Even Chizue was not oblivious to the sudden sound of feet upon pavement just outside of her own home, the Dark Hunters so quickly seemed to take the bait - all but darting in the direction of that roar and, indeed, away from the pair. Their voices slowly seemed to move further and further away until, at last, the bear's attention turned back towards her, all of those subtle minute sounds near but flooded her senses - as if she was finally coming up for air. A soft breath of relief left her lips, her chocolate eyes watched as the bear's interest near immediately turned towards the ground, sniffing and huffing at the scents that lingered there. Chizue easily sidestepped our of his pathway as he followed some unseen trail leading upwards and towards the porch. She could hear the stairs all but groan beneath his massive weight and yet, that wood held all the same. "Just a moment." The vampire uttered softly as she tried to move around the bear, just as his warm breath began to fog the glass of her French doors. She was, admittedly, almost hesitant to allow the man access to the home. While Isolt had moved out of it, the property still belonged to her Supreme and she detested the idea of somehow breaking the home in any sense. A soft sigh left her lips as her hand rested upon the doorknob. There was no helping it, she supposed.

She opened the door, leaning over the bear to open the other side and allow him access into the very depths of her home. Chizue tried to move in front of him, shifting aside the side table to instead be in front of the sofa in some effort to clear the bear some room. "Try to be careful okay? It's not....really my home." Chizue continued, her very tone almost desperate before her gaze turned back towards the bear, her hands toying with the hem of her shirt in a near nervous manner. For a moment she watched him sniff about her home till the sight of red upon his haunch grabbed her attention. The color was such a stark contrast to the ivory of his fur that she was almost surprised that she hadn't noticed it sooner. Tentatively, Chizue moved towards his haunch, only to delicately reach out and touch the very area around that wound. There was no doubt about it - there was a bullet there. "Oh no....we have to get this out of you..." She muttered softly, her chocolate eyes turned back towards the man, entirely unsure of just how she intended to do that.
