The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

He found himself wandering around downtown, looking through shop windows. He wasn't exactly sure what he was shopping for but he wanted to find something nice for Adelaide. They hadn't had a lot of time to go out after their vacation on the bike but he wanted to remedy that soon. He'd been spending most of his time either at the house working in the yard or at the local auto shop in town, tinkering with cars and bikes. He'd come across Anthony, the guy who owns the shop, while out riding his bike one day. Anthony liked the Harley, and was interested when he found out Taylor built it from scratch with his dad. He invited him to the shop and soon enough Taylor was going there just about every day. He'd picked up on a lot from Anthony, learning a lot of different techniques for working on certain things. He felt this was way better than going to college for a fancy education. He'd even done some enhancements to his own bike at the shop. But today, he wanted to surprise Adelaide by getting her something nice. He just had no idea what to get. He had hoped it would just leap out at him from a shop window like you see in the movies, but so far, no such luck. Finally he sighed and walked into a jewelry shop, idly looking at rings and necklaces. Just he'd found a neat little dew drop necklace, he heard a commotion behind him and turned, only to see four guys with guns and masks on. Just great. |
