East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Walk me home in the dead of night
I can't be alone with all that's on my mind
So say you'll stay with me tonight
'Cause there is so much wrong going on outside

It was a rare treat, not only to be eyeing one of the most delicious cupcakes she had ever laid her eyes on but to be out near basking in the warm sunlight in what was decidedly the poshest part of town. Red velvet, decadent in every sense of the world and easily her favorite cake no mater what form it took. The cream cheese icing was piled high like an ivory crown and while it was beautiful, she had no qualms about sinking her teeth through its picture-perfect exterior. She hummed in pleasure, the sound reverberating in the back of her throat and she held on to that delight as she reminisced about her recent conversation with her employer... or depending on her choice pack leader. She shook her head quietly; it was not a decision she thought she would be facing much less actually considering.

She sighed contentedly, no closer to an actual decision on the proposition but far too blissful to allow herself to worry about it just now. It was only the soft sound of her name wrapped in that delicate feminine voice that pulled her from her reverie, so out of place and yet familiar. She glanced up quickly, her eyes unfocused for a moment until they landed on the dark-skinned woman. A smile quickly spread over her pink lips, a true and warm smile of recognition at her former employer as she closed the distance between them, having obviously just exited the bakery herself. Sliding her chair back the leopard stood quickly and stepped forward. "Nadya! she exclaimed in clear disbelief at seeing the woman here, for while she had often thought of the Ark owner's sister she had learned enough to know better than to ask her coworkers.

After all, Nadya had given the woman her first real chance at a life here in Sacrosanct so many years ago and she still felt that she owned her for that, even more so for no doubt leaving her high and dry when she had vanished later. "Yes, I got back a few months ago!" Her slender shoulders shrugged a big sheepishly, realizing that no doubt she would have more than a few questions about her sudden disappearance. Still, Carolina was presented with a few questions of her own as she finally took in the sight of Nadya's figure. "It's so great to see you too, you look amazing! How have you been?" Her question was earnest and as her eyes flicked down once more to what she could only assume was the early stages of a very bump. Nadya had always been a slender woman and while it felt safe to assume the woman hadn't just let herself go recently, but she would wait for the panther to offer that information as assuming anything could be a dangerous game.

"Sit, please!" she said, gesturing to the small table she had been sitting at on the chance that her old friend had the time to stay a while. Judging by the box she carried, so similar to the one the leopard had picked up herself, it was obvious she was either taking some for someone else or to enjoy herself later. No doubt so much had happened since their last meeting that the two could spend quite a bit of time catching up if they had a mind to.
