The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Mira's full-bodied laugh escaped her leaving behind a mischievous smirk that lingered along with the spark within her golden gaze. The sound prompted several looks her way and yet she hardly cared. "I don't know why I find that so funny but I do." Perhaps they best..... find that meal, two hungry wolves amongst lambs surely was never a good combination. The pair rose to hunt... down a restaurant of course, in lighter spirits than some of those shock riddled soon to be parents they left behind.
They moved through the busy mall as Raven eventually finally revealed the gender of her child. Oh how she suspected the woman enjoyed holding these secrets! That teasing shifted to a genuine contentment for her companion and her son on the way. A boy, to know the gender, yet another thing about a child growing within her belly had to make that feeling for her all the more real. She was pleased for Tobias and Raven both. In truth, she was quite surprised they hadn't had children sooner. Yet that hardly mattered, Raven seemed happy. Wasn't that what life was about? Finding a personal semblance of happiness in an all too jaded world? That was until how quickly that question shifted on to Mira herself. Surprise fluttered across her molten gold eyes... Raven tapped Mira's hand which was perpetually warm from the lava that she harboured within her.. One might think it would feel like it would be like burning alive. Not her.. It felt pleasant. The rest of her body emanated a perpetual warm but not too much. Raven placed that hand over Mira's to keep it in place upon her belly. Oh what a question that the she-wolf seemed unprepared for. "Me uh, no.. I haven't thought about it..." A child? Her? Of all the things she considered herself.. A child was not ever one of them. What did Tetradore even think of children? Of all the countless things they had talked about... never children. How adamant she had been to discount children in the past and how close she was to have it all but forced upon her. Exactly how a child should not enter within this world. That situation left an entirely ugly, unsettling feeling within her chest she hadn't felt in a very long time. Why the hell was the past so keen on nipping at her heels? It was no longer her own. This moment, the people in it... was her reality now and that was all that mattered. She had so much to be happy about now.. Tetradore, a pack that was more family than anything else. "I.." She was about to speak before.. She felt it! She felt the baby kick! What a strange feeling to have something so alive and squirmy living inside of you.
Mira's words were all but contently forgotten when that genuine surprise at having felt the child which rapidly grew inside Raven's stomach. It prompted a snicker from the other woman that hinted that Mira's reaction was an amusing one. What a strange sensation to feel.. Growing life moving beneath someone else's skin... Especially in a mall of all places. It seemed too cherished a moment for the mall.
Soon after, the pair set off to finish the quest of finding food. The pair were practically ravenous, just about anything sounded good right now.. Well..maybe almost anything. Some of Raven's craving foods.. Just seemed unappealing. It was like the baby and her own cravings collided and conflicted... Who knows.. Maybe it was delicious?
It was not long before they had decided on their food, ordering with swift purpose before the pair of women spoke. Raven seemed happy yes... but there was clearly something else afflicting her all the same. It took very little prompting to earn a forlorn sigh that escaped the curly haired woman before she spoke.Mira had known of those previous worries, even had once assured her then... as she would do now. She refused to let Raven feel alone in this... especially when she was the furthest thing from alone.
The waitress returned with their food and drinks, oh damn that looked good. Although it appeared like a hell of a lot of food for the pair... Or should she say... two women and 1 boy.. Maybe it was the boy that caused Raven's appetite to surge! That seemed like a boy trait for sure. It was when the waitress left after a thank you that Raven began to plate her food and brought some of those heated nachos to her lips almost nervously.
Mira paused before her kind vibrant golden gaze met her companions. "I know I have said this before.. But I am going to say this again. You are not alone. I know times feel bad now.. Especially with the pack being physically apart." It would be a far more worrisome thing if the woman wasn't terrified! It was normal, and expected. Her whole world was about to change. Mira felt the urge to reach for her hand, but the booth made it awkward. Instead Mira caught the blue gaze of Raven before continuing, food could wait just a little longer.
"Change is inevitable, but it's amazing how we can adapt when hit with it. Look at the Ark for example. I know in my bones that we will somehow come out better than before. Same thing with your cub. Sure it's scary as hell. Sure.. there will be times you question your sanity.. Or worry that the whole world might fall apart. But it wont.. I know Tobias won't let anything happen to you.. Or your children... " Mira leaned back into the plush cushion from that booth as she offered Raven a reassuring smile. "Plus... I have my phone on me almost everywhere I go..You have my number.. Don't be afraid to use it. I can't say I know very much about babies buut.. I have a doctorate in google..." She tossed a loaded nacho chip into her mouth... damn that was good. As long as there was delicious food... the world... would be ok. Things had a strange way of working themselves out no matter the outcome. At least in that she could believe in.
The pair devoured their food with little to spare, it was an impressive feat really... she hoped Raven would certainly find some peace to ease her troubled mind. She hardly blamed her. Their world was upside down and she had a child growing in her belly... that was a recipe for uncertainty. It wasn't long before they were able to settle the bill and rose to their feet.. Memories of the horrors from that class long gone.. And hopefully Raven's worries.. At least... were partly appeased.
Mira led the way through the dimly lit restaurant into the much brighter mall that was milling with people eager to get their shopping itches scratched. It took a second for her eyes to adjust to the sudden bustle.
"Now.. we shop... Mira declared. " I think I saw a store right across from us with baby clothes.... Also.. I need to pick up some socks. I rescued as much as I could when the Ark was sinking.... But apparently no socks.. Tetradore and I have been.... Almost sockless 90% of the time.. You don't realize how much you might miss something so simple until you are walking on cold tile and no socks." Mira chuckled light-heartedly... carefree as they made their way into the children's store. It was packed full of clothes for all ages. It was like suddenly being punched in the face with everything baby, there was no choice but to dive right in and embrace it.
