The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Alexander was lost in thought for some of the ride but Alexis didn't mind. It meant she got to study him in intense silence without him really knowing about it. She liked studying his handsome features. She got to wonder to herself yet again how she ended up being the focus of his affections. She felt so plain next to him, so ordinary. He seemed amused when she talked about the horses on tv though, before saying she wouldn't like him as a trainer. Her brow raised in challenge. "Oh yeah? Would you go hard on me, sir?" Her voice came out in a teasing purr, green eyes twinkling as she looked back forward like she didn't just make a sexual inuendo. He didn't seem too against the idea of a movie night, either, which made her feel all toasty inside. She had thought surely he would be getting bored with her, especially after tonight. He said he looked forward to it and she smirked. "Me too." She added softly with a shy smile. Her attention turned back to the sweet mare she was riding as they got closer to the barn. It seemed all too soon that they were getting off the horses and unsaddling. She gasped in delight as Alexander reached up to get her down, her arms wrapping around his strong neck in appreciation. She even laughed a little as he set her down. She had to kiss the mare good bye and thank her for the ride before Alexander led her away. He said he would drop her off at the Ark and she smiled. "Thank you. I really had fun tonight, Alexander." She smiled up at him, waiting by the barn doors for him. Glancing out into the night, she let out a sigh of regret. She almost didn't want the night to end. |
