The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Nadya's first instinct upon seeing Raven was to look for an exit route. Her eyes slid around glancing around the aisles to see if there would be a way to slip away unnoticed or pretend to have not seen Raven. It was no use though as Nadya saw recognition cross Raven's face. At that point it would be rude and perhaps stir up unnecessary friction in their pack. Though her cautionary feelings towards a wolf were still there, she didn't feel she could risk irritating one. It wasn't her safety she had to think about now. Nadya knew how to be courteous and her behavior reflected that, holding none of that irritation or gruff tone that it had during their last encounter when Raven had told her about Tetradore inviting the wolf to the pack.
"Sanctuary?" Nadya wouldn't really call a bookstore a sanctuary. It was more like a museum with nothing to look at. You were expected to keep the noise level down and if you didn't know the authors it was near about blasphemous as not known an artist's painting. She had never really cared for bookstores, sure she read, but she much preferred to be out running around. Raven was right to assume that her money went mostly to clothes, something she wished she could be doing right now. Her gaze flicked nervously to the shelf that she had shoved her procured books. It would be easy enough to deny them and change the subject entirely simply coming back for them later. However, she already felt horribly behind with everything and it would take her forever to get through the books and feel prepared. Again though her mind went to the possible friction in the pack and whether lying or telling Raven would cause more.
Hesitantly Nadya pulled the books she had stashed from the shelf. She decided not telling Raven and letting her find out when it was too hard to hide would cause more problems. "It's just a bit of...research." Her eyes scanned the titles again before looking back up at Raven, pulling herself up just a bit as her position in the pack demanded. "I'm not sure how far along I am so not sure where to start...what I need." Nadya shrugged slightly and waited. If Raven countered in a harsh manner it wasn't quite guaranteed how Nadya would react. Her moods were already up and down and very quick to snap as it was.
