Despite the centuries that had passed, the glorious moon hanging heavily within the sky was forever a siren song for the gaelic Queen of the forest. Sacrosanct's outskirts were hardly the land she was born in and yet, the unicorn forever had a place amongst those towering trees and reaching evergreens. Each foot fall was purposeful as the stark white maiden moved deeper into the surrounding forest. The wildlife hardly feared her, after all she belonged with them. She was their ruler, her very purity a beacon for their fidelity and they welcomed her with the same reverence she rightly deserved. She meandered with a herd of deer, guided by their impressively pointed Stag as he led them to what he was sure were lusher lands. Their trail winded along the outskirts of Sacrosanct and up towards the mountains that loomed over the city, only for the small party to pause upon the edge of a seemingly dark, quiet spec of asphalt. How quickly that hint of trepidation filled the herd, their very anxiety palpable for the unicorn as she stood amongst their ranks, glancing down the abyss of black and into the night. Innately, they seemed to know how terribly dangerous those roads could be. How many had they lost to automobiles speeding too fast to stop for the crossing of such innocent creatures?
An audible snort left the maiden's nose as she fearlessly stepped out onto the solid asphalt, her crystalline blue eyes darting down the stretch of highway one way, then another, before she moved to stand in the middle of the interstate. Her ethereal form was a veritable beacon within the darkness, enshrouded by the gentle glow of the luminous moon. It was, perhaps, a futile endeavor, to ensure those deer persisted by helping them cross this one road when surely they would have to cross any multitude of others without her assistance. Her gaze turned back towards the small herd as she snorted softly, beckoning them to her. Tentatively, the stag stepped out onto the asphalt, each footfall slow, calculated, and with a measure of elegance, as if he feared nothing. A true King in his own right. How sad it was that her own kind lacked that level of...refinement. With several gentle nudges of encouragement, Aislinn managed to coax nearly the entire herd across the road before a sudden tell tale roar of an engine filled the night sky.
Instantly, the female deer that had thus far managed to cross the road without incident began to scatter, hiding in the protection of the forest behind them till only the Stag, Aislinn, and the remaining doe and her child beside the unicorn remained. Their gazes were all collectively turned towards the source of the sound as it became louder and louder every passing second. Two cones of light cut through the darkness, illuminating her larger form before an ear splitting screech caused her ears to pin back upon her skull. The lights swerved to the side, brightening up the trees as the bike turned to skid on the asphalt, coming to a halt to nearly crush the man riding it right at Aislinn's feet. Her gaze turned down towards him as she stared at him, only for an audible snort to leave her nose. Her attention turned back towards the remaining doe as she nudged it with her nose, that touch prompted it into action as she darted across the street with her child, disappearing into the forest with her stag behind her - leaving Aislinn alone with the man. Critically, the equine eyed him, her head leaned down, the spiraling radiant horn entirely incapable of being ignored as it protruded from her forehead. At the very least, Aislinn had managed to save the deer, no thanks to this man.
