I don't know if this girl was just that desperate for blood that she went around stealing it at hospitals or what her deal is. All I knew was that I wasn't sharing the blood in my body by choice. The night in the park with the little girl was against my will and I'd never felt so...violated. She was SO strong. I remember that vividly. I knew the moment she took my wrist that I wasn't getting it back. I had yet to run into another vampire since that night (thank God) but here I am being faced with a girl who obviously wants some blood of her own. Just great. Why was I always on the menu? When she glanced at my leg, she scoffed, saying it wasn't actively bleeding and I scowled. "Yeah, if you do it right, a good tourniquet and wrap will stop most of that. Doesn't mean it wasn't five minutes ago....but that's not even the point." I had to actively shake my head as I ran a hand through it. Why am I arguing with a crazy person about whether my wound is bleeding? "You know what? You're right. It's not bleeding. Probably won't any time soon either. Maybe if you check another bed, you can find a good geyser." Probably not going to work, but I could hope to distract her with a simpler solution. When I mentioned the accident, she raised a brow, asking why I was skidding down the highway. I gave a light shrug. "Just doing my part not to make another Bambi orphan in the forest. I laid my bike down trying not to hit a deer." It did work, at least. Then there was that super strange incident with the unicorn looking thing that turned into a girl. Not to mention the butterflies. Oh, and the girl was naked. Not that that's the point or anything. Just another strange occurrence that she didn't have any clothes on when the butterflies disappeared. I did give her my jacket though. Gentleman points. The girl pulled out that little blade like it was second nature and I didn't like the direction this was going in any way. I tried to talk my way out of it, accusing her of not being a nurse. Wasn't exactly planning on her arguing with me that she had the outfit. I couldn't help but lift a brow. "That blade come with it too? I'd think a syringe would be more....in character." Not that I want her to carry a syringe toward me right now either. In fact, I'm wishing I could do more than limp pathetically if she were to jump at me right now. When I mentioned my run-in with a vampire in the past, she shook her head before confessing that her daughter was the vampire and needed blood. That took me for a turn. I couldn't help furrowing my brows in confusion. "So you...gave birth to a vampire? That happens? Or wait....did someone kill your daughter and make her a vampire? If so, I'm super sorry to hear that. That must be...rough." I actually felt sympathy for her on that. Sure, she was just offering to stab me, but I do have a soft spot for kids. Hence why I got man handled but a little girl in a park. Suddenly the woman sits beside me on the bed and I tense. My hands are still on either side of me on the bed but they're holding the edges of the bed, ready to spring to action if that blade comes near me. Feeling bad for the kid or not, I'm still not giving up my blood without a fight. I wasn't expecting her to ask for options though. I turn my head to her, searching her features for a minute before I grimace. "Uh, how about I help you get some blood bags? I'm sure I could serve as a good distraction." It was the first thing that came to me, not that I want to be an accomplice to a crime, but a part of me feels for her situation. If she's just trying to get some blood to her dead child, who am I to stand in the way of that? This might be her only way of coping. Are there a lot of vampire children in Sacrosanct? I might need to rethink my living situation. I would hate to think that the little girl I met in the park is her daughter. THAT would definitely be awkward. |
