East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

He had been getting antsyâ€"restlessâ€"even; he'd paced the halls of his father's throne room too fed up with the feeling of being caged. He may have been able to have free rein but he was still his father's only legitimate son. He was sure there were Halflings somewhere in the world. Six months previously he'd had a sit down with Liam about the current condition of their realm and what could be done to further its uses and how using the Outside world would benefit them. In the end, it was thought that Vadris would create his own Monarchy on the Outside and open a portal to Otherworld whenever it was needed. He'd been instructed to take Helena with him, but to pull his favored sister from their people seemed too cruel. But she had insisted, she spoke Truth and prophesize and had the ability to open the portal to Otherworld.

He'd been convinced and had gone back to the Outside and start a human job, Helena he had sent to start finding a location that was good for them. Before he'd left he had told his father that the only way he would do this was if he'd have Lyrica by his side and after careful consideration his father had consented and had even sent the young woman a missive which he had Vadris sign. Did he know they had cell phones now? He knew it wouldn't actually work in Otherworld, but really, having to be somewhere on a certain date when he wasn't even sure if she had received it was pretty annoying.

He'd gone to apply to be a teacher to the local youth, the best way to scope out potential new fae's was to get to know them personally. He never backed down either, intelligence and athleticism was a plus in his world. The younger they were when he got a hold of them the better, but he was willing to be patient. So he chose teenagers, their physical reactions to him were almost enough to cause him to smile and that was what he wanted. He wanted their attention on him and nothing else, he wanted to engage their minds and feel them out. Then, maybe, just maybe, he'd choose a few.

But right now, he'd tracked Lyrica to her apartment and after a quick search he was confident she was no longer in the vicinity. He'd stopped to check out a park, Helena walked through it as if she owned it and he'd watched her for a few moments with that same look he'd done when she'd retrieved him from Outside.

He'd moved on to the small café around the corner, he knew she'd be there, it was as natural as breathing the way he'd always been able to find her. They'd been side-by-side as children and then further as they had gotten older and they'd furthered that fostered relationship when he'd granted her wish to fully join them. He leaned against the window for a few moments just watching her, studying the way she sat and her supposed contemplation. He knew what she was drinking too, he was scarily accurate like that. It was when he moved in and ordered the exact same thing did he turn his attention fully on her.

"Lyrica" His voice is smooth, his accent still just as strong as when he'd been a boy despite the generations he'd lived. He leans forward then, resting his chin on his palm as he continued to study her. "You didn't actually read it, did you?" He asks, she'd always been one prone to bouts of impatience, it was why he found her here.
