East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Her demand was met with silence.

...This...girl.
This...Fae.

So demanding, so arrogant. He wanted to laugh. He wanted to mock her, to pity her, to scorn her! He was amused as much as he was seething; bristling in a building cloud of frustration and anger. Who was she to demand anything of him? The answer rang in his mind like a thousand echoing bells, drumming him into a blind rage in which he could hear nothing else. No one. She was no one.

The light pressure against her neck and shoulders increased drastically. Suddenly his presence was no longer wispy and coy. It was heavy now, and loomed over her and her wall perch like an impending thunderstorm. In one quick movement the thickening smoke curled around her neck, twisting its way around her skin like a snake constricting its prey. Every Fae was so different and yet so entirely the same. They wanted the world in their little fairy hands and they wanted it as easily as they could get it. So entitled. So selfish! ...So beautifully deceiving.

Animal wanted to squeeze and never let go, to punish her like he had so many before who asked (no, demanded!) too much when he was simply not ready to give. So she wanted to know did she? Well knowledge was a privilege, wasn't it? And this particular knowledge was none of her business! Just how badly did she need to know that there was a part of him that so very much wanted her dead? ...That it was nearly as strong as his desire to admire? The two were clashing dangerously now in the Wild Fae's mind, though apparently these spurts of rage never seemed to last more than a few seconds -- until triggered once again. The moment of pressure was gone, the smoke releasing its catch almost as quickly as it had snared it. Animal appeared standing on the wall beside her, spreading his hands with his back turned as he began to walk a short ways away. "What makesss you think... That I want anything to do with you... at all?" There was a serpentine hiss that was unmistakable in his venom laced bluff.

"Ssselfish girl," He added with a frown before turning to face her from a distance once more. His hands clasped behind his back quietly as he stared at her. Had he underestimated himself in this situation? Maybe it had been far too long since he had attempted any 'civil' interaction with another Fae. She was the same species but belonged to another world entirely -- something that left a bitter taste in Animal's mouth. He could not be apart of that world. And she could not be apart of his.

have you no idea that you're in this deep?
I've dreamt about you nearly every night this week
