East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Nadya watches Alexis with casual curiosity, gauging her reaction to the new beverage, though for someone not used to such a strong drink she would have seriously suggested cream and sugar. A faint smirk tugs at the corner of her mouth at the grimace the woman makes. "It's not for everyone. Cream and sugar will probably make it better for you." Nadya slides off her bench to quickly retrieve the articles in question, returning She took in the joy in Alexis' features, lifting the fragile worry from her eyes, obviously delighted at the pastry. "They call it a chocolate cigar. It's like a croissant filled with chocolate...except sweeter since it's a different puff pastry breading and they dump extra powdered sugar on top. The pastry breading gives it that extra flakiness too." The fact that Alexis had never seen anything like this seemed more odd than her having not tried coffee before; everyone had had pastries before right? Nadya was assured that Alexis had either been living under a rock in solitude or had very strict parents which led to a very little goodies growing up.

She returns her own mug to its rightful place between her cupped palms resting on the table top, shrugging at the apology. She'd never understood why people would apologize for things they had no part in, no control on what happened whether past or present. "You can't miss what you never really had." Her attention drifts momentarily out the front window to the drifting foot traffic, lost in the faint memories of her childhood, of her biological parents and the pack she was born into. It was hard to miss something you really didn't have in the first place. At the tender age of 5 her whole world had changed, thus most of what she remembered was her adoptive family that were also Alphas so in all...she had been raised as she would have had that night not happened anyhow. Only once she had been told that her fuzzy dreams were in fact memories had they really started to surface again, albeit fragmented, and sometimes at night would lay awake staring up at the moon and star littered sky wondering what her parents would have been like- would they be proud of her, did she look like her mom, did she possess some skill inherited by them?

Tobias was going to start getting restless, expecting her return with the promise of food, that is if he wasn't out terrorizing the city and its unsuspecting inhabitants already. Perhaps her brother had made it to their makeshift home and taken over from her 'babysitting' duty and Tobias was happy as a clam again, either way the time was drawing on and Nadya had to get back, whether to Tobias or to the hope of seeing her brother. "Are you staying anywhere?" Nadya finished off her coffee and pushed the mug aside, gathering the bag of goodies up in preparation to leave. It would have been foolhearty to lead Alexis back to their lair what with how the last encounter with the snow leopard went. He was likely to take out any hunger, territory, or Tetra being gone frustration on the next newcomer which was another fight she wasn't wanting to get into with him this early in the day. "I'd say you could come back with me but my brother's friend is a little...on edge. If you'd like though I can come back here tomorrow and we can do something? The full moon is soon too..." She could feel it each night, her body prepping for the full moon, stretching up to embrace the ever growing bright orb. While Tobias was rather volatile in human form she had seen him more amicable in his feline form and perhaps more so on the full moon with plenty of other things to do than hound her she could slip away to find Alexis.
