East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

The mysterious coin that the were-creature held so dear had been a topic of eternal intrigue for the persistent Dark Hunter. It was an issue he particularly chose to press, knowing there was far more to the tale then the vagueness he had once been offered. This trinket, whatever it was, was more then simply an heirloom, that he had figured out easily enough. Despite the facade of firmness, Alexander found himself surprisingly pleased when his insistence resulted in a tale and the showing of a similar coin. Gingerly, the man reached out to take the offered coin into his hand, silently moving his fingers over the rough face of it. Alexander offered only a brief nod that he was aware of Odin and the accompanying mythology, his crystalline gaze instead steadfast upon the coin as he considered the tale told to him. He was largely silent throughout it's telling though his attention remained entirely astute upon the were-creatures voice. His eyebrows furrowed as the man's voice wound down to an end and yet, Alexander knew all too well that there was something the equine-man chose to keep to himself. It was something that he particularly doubted being able to pry out of the fellow easily though quite frankly he was unsure if he even cared about the coins and their combined effect upon the were-species.

He was contemplating this very fact when the creature in front of him snorted at his persistence, Alexander offering little more then a distracted shrug. "Touch him and you'll teleport with him automatically." He responded in a rather vague fashion, hardly going into the details of how he knew such a fact or what his intentions were with this knowledge. Instead, Alexander found himself voicing with unwavering certainty of how the future would go and just what his capabilities were - with or without the presence of the equestrian supernatural. He knew entirely what it was the male was experiencing through his perhaps courageous speech - though it was entirely distracting in itself. It aggravated him internally, this lack of control and the blossoming ability. He understood what it was, just as he too understood the need to control his own internal thoughts and yet - Alexander hardly felt the need to share this information with his companion. His blue-green sea colored gaze offered the same poised nothingness. It was tactical at best, that indifference, hardly truthful of the male's usual demeanor.

Never the less, Alexander waved off the man's worst, ignoring the jab that he knew rested entirely within that title of kingship that he hadn't heard in centuries. "The council is malleable. They always have been. If you think those of us who have lived centuries could do so without strife you would be wrong. The council is always changing. We are at war with ourselves as much as we are with everyone else. It's why we continually fail to fall short of complete annihilation." His tone held an entirely lackadaisical sound to it, as if such was an entirely known fact one that he was concerned strikingly little about. "Bessus was always his name. He took Artaxerxes the fifth when he claimed himself king of my empire. It was a mistake I thought I had rectified." There was a bitter tone to his voice, one that he clearly had not forgotten.

Alexander was content to leave it at that, hardly delving into their extensive history together. Instead he merely listened with a bemused twitch to his lips as the man before him defended his capabilities as a stallion. It made him curious, perhaps, if the were would be as able as his so fondly held stallion. Still, the male made no move to offer any such inquiry, instead falling silent and pensive as he watched the creature in front of him. It was a curious game of mental warfare but patience was something Alexander had perfected. Just as much as doing what others deemed impossible. The please however had caught the conqueror off guard. He had doubted he would ever hear such words from lips of the stallion. After a moment of consideration, Alexander offered but a brief nod in response. It was the smallest show of acceptance that he would indeed allow the creature's presence on this particular adventure.
