East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

Despite the Macedonian man's once overzealous proverbial drunken state, the centuries that had passed had certainly served to mellow the man out. These days, the amusements had shifted. It bad evolved into something more - something beyond just the consumption of alcohol and foods that had once been considered extravagant. In comparison to the luxury they now beheld, the men in Alexander's army were little more then triable. Usually, Alexander would pass up such large social entanglements. Usually they were enough to thin out his night crowd so that he could actually have time to enjoy his solitude . Unfortunately, tonight was certainly not a usual evening either. Although, Alexander had certainly experienced enough All Hallow's Eve's that it might as well be just another normal affair for him. Hundreds of decades ago, Halloween was a night in which the Hunter council was particularly vigilant. It was primarily the night of witches but when it happened to cross with the full moon things tended to get complicated. Not to mention the vampires that always roamed the twilight hours. Now, however, they had grown lax. Things had changed. Now tonight was simply another day of exhausted revelry. My how far they had fallen.

He knew that venturing here of all nights was particularly dangerous. It was on Halloween that the supernatural population had proven it self, through time, to become most cocky. They thought they were invincible - but just for tonight. It was perhaps for that reason alone that Alexander ensured he didn't leave the cafe without a weapon strapped to his body beneath the costume he'd donned of the night's festivities. A black piece of cloth was wrapped around his waist, secured by a antique gilded belt. His jerkin was a soft supple material, lined with the same golden hue. A heavy gold plated necklace rested on his chest and shoulders, encompassing him. His wrist sparkled with the same thick, large golden bracelets and finally, upon his head rested the blue and golden headdress that had so come to signify the Pharaoh. Pharaoh Alexander. His reign had been cut far too short, too soon. Still, he had prided himself on keeping the ancient Egyptian artifacts he had been given in tact, weather or not they were appreciated.

Alexander paused upon the threshold of the Tavern, his blue-green gaze sweeping the room with a through intensity. There were many face's at tonight's event that were foreign to him, some he had only the vague recollection of passing through the doors of the Sanctum. Frost, in his corner, was by far the easiest to recognize though Alexander was frankly unsure if he wanted to spend any prolonged period of time within the stubborn fellow's company. Especially not on his self proclaimed night off. It was, however, a young woman who caught his sea colored eyes. At first, he hadn't recognized her, her clothing was far darker and more provocative then anything he'd ever seen her in. Her eye color had been turned a vibrant shade of red that so signified the vampires and for a brief moment his lips pressed together in a small hint of disdain. Vampires were amongst Alexander's least favorite of species. Never the less, he found himself moving forward towards her only to offer Alexis a single gloved hand. His blue-green eyes watched the young girl even as he wordlessly asked her to dance with him. At least, that was until he remembered that what they called dancing today was barbarous compared to what he was used to and for a moment Alexander regretted his lapse of judgement.
