The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Samantha's protests fell on deaf ears as Nadya focused on the saleswoman she spoke to. It was best for her control, the slivers she was beginning to grasp onto, if she continued on the task at hand which was to get the blonde out of the thrift store clothes into proper burlesque manager attire. Some would say they had their work cut out for them, but not Nadya, as shopping acted like a form of therapy for her and fashion simply came much easier to her. What others would see as a challenge, Nadya saw as a walk in the park, something to relish in. So Samantha's protest didn't even register as important for the moment.
Thankfully her protests were simply verbal and Nadya was still able to guide Sam through the clothes and over to the fitting rooms. "You'll see." Was the only encouragement Nadya offered her employee before ushering her into the dressing room and slipping into her own. As Nadya stood in her own black lace dress, her fingers tracing the delicate patterns, her emotions and control teetered, though not nearly as much as it had before so she was capable of redirecting herself. She noted that it took a moment for Sam to actually open the door to reveal the first chosen outfit. The red skirt and white mid-drift blouse were complimentary to the blonde and fair skin of the young fae. "Nonesense." A small warm smile that actually reached her eyes broke Nadya's forlorn expression as Sam stood there very unsure.
Nadya reached forward to gently bat away Sam's hands from covering the skin that the top revealed. "You look gorgeous in that. I know for a fact my brother would agree. In fact-" Nadya stepped aside to where she had set her purse down on the cushioned ottoman in front of the 3-paneled mirror. When Nadya spun back around she was clasping her phone in her hand and quickly snapped a picture of Sam. "There, now we'll know exactly what he thinks of it." Of course she wasn't going to send it to Aiden at that moment, but it was a very good item to have in her arsenal. "So that's one of them, a definite yes...you need to try on the others now." Nadya waved her hand dismissively with that same little smile.
It was at that moment that another one of the shoppers was wandering to the back of the store pushing a stroller with an infant, one that Nadya wouldn't even register had it not been fussing slightly. The sound alone drew her attention, having had a little over a year now being accustomed to those sounds coming from her own beckoning her to care for them in some way. It was an automatic glance, though the moment her brain caught up with her action and registered that it wasn't hers...that it couldn't be...because they were so far away, that was when her control began to quickly slip. Nadya attempted to ward off the colliding pain that gripped her heart with icy talons which was at odds with the fire that lit through her veins as she looked back at Sam. "You...you need at least four outfits before I'll let you go." It was clear that her words were taking a considerable amount of effort. "Two evening...two...day..."
