The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

A new world hangs outside the window Beautiful and strange It must be I've fallen awake I must be If Sebastian can't tell by now, Buffy ain't big on sharing. That's gotten her into trouble before. And now, she's just trying to be a good girl so the council continues to give her assignments. Her phone continues to buzz, the screen lit and the square brick dancing delicately across the table. But Buffy doesn't reach for it this time. Instead, she's watching the vampire across from her, thick but surprisingly well-manicured eyebrows furrowed together over the bridge of her nose. She crosses her arms , folding them tightly against her breasts. She's torn here -- instinct tells her Sebastian needs to die. It's incessant, pleading with her to do it, to do it now. But Buffy is in control of it, tuning it out momentarily as she weighs her options. She's become rather good at ending vampires. It's sort of like her specialty. She prefers them to other creatures of the night, though don't get me wrong, she happily completes every assignment. But there's a finesse to the way she hunts a vampire, a skill she's fine tuned over time. Buffy has a reputation for it now. And to let Sebastian go, to let him live to tell the tale, could tarnish that. She scoffs once he's finished. Affection and misfits and a vampire who doesn't make it "a habit of killing." It all seems so silly. She laughs out loud a few times, stifling the snorts and the giggles only by grabbing her beer and taking another sip. Buffy glares at the man who is silently trying to get the vampire's attention. "Oh, I get it. Does he know you prefer men?" She says bluntly, smiling coyly at the man with the happy hands. "And that you're a vampire?" At the end of the day, Sebastian means very little to Buffy. But neither do the sea of faceless men waiting for their next round in this foolish excuse for a mating ritual. She was only here because of her sister, even if deep down, she was lonely. It was pretty apparent that she hadn't gotten laid in a while. But that doesn't matter now. Not when you're a dark hunter and there's a vampire sitting in front of you. "I don't believe you." She says, leaning forward across the table, eyes wide with one hand clutching the stake in her pocket. She didn't want to make a scene, but she would if she had to. "If you can prove it, you just might change my mind." |
