East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

It was quite the marvel the way that times had changed since the year of his birth. Back in those days, meat had been their primary source of nutrients, followed only by some of the most basic of vegetables. Things like bananas and pineapples were all together foreign for the man and, infact, food was by far one of the perks of his conquests - indulging in the delicacies that the Egyptians and Persia had which Macedonia altogether lacked. This new found desire to somehow eat only of the earth for some ridiculous notion that the animals somehow suffered or that their lives were more valuable this way entirely confounded the Macedonian King and yet, he had always done his best to at least be tolerant of other's beliefs, regardless of how obscene he thought they were. It was this attribute that he was hailed for during his years of a conquest and a trait that still remained steadfast within him, still, he couldn't help the way his eyebrows raised or the look that he gave her.

Regardless, he listened to the young girl's explanation in relative silence, easily putting together the puzzle pieces of her life. She was a were - that he knew plainly and if this eating habit had only begun recently then he could only guess she'd been turned in the past few years...into a herbivore. "So, what is it then, Rabbit? Goat?" He inquired, turning his attention back towards the meat on his place before gingerly taking a bit with his fork. "...Don't tell me you're a were-deer. It you got bit by a god damned deer, you deserve it." He pointed his fork at her before placing the bit in his mouth, entirely willing to admit that he knew exactly what she was. After all, there was no one else around and, eventually, her own sense would surely kick in and then hiding it would be entirely moot. At least, such had been his thought process until the mention of a vastly more riveting subject - history. History, and the men within them, was vastly more interesting to the man if only because he had lived within it and too entangled himself in some way or another in each of the world's most noteable wars. War was one aspect that he remained entirely successful within, his own slate remained untainted, his record unbeaten and yet, to his greatest sadness, the world remained unaware of his continual success. The conqueror had his chance to make his mark and now the councils had bound him to some stupid oath of anonymity.

Still, his eyebrows furrowed ever so slightly at the woman's words, his blue-green gaze narrowing slightly yet he hardly commented. As much as he hated to admit it, the past few years, the King was becoming startling used to the naive and their rather pointed lack of respect. Running the coffee shop had certainly shown him the more flippant side of individuals. He dipped his fork into his mashed potatoes before too placing them in his mouth, remaining altogether silent on his own thoughts on each of the names that she mentioned. In fact, it wasn't until the mention of his own name that Alexander even so much as reacted. A rather audible snort left his nose at the young woman's comment, his head shaking ever so slightly, "Or get turned into a Dark Hunter." He responded, more to himself then the woman across from him. After all, he hadn't wanted to be the thing he was now, not initially - but he was dying and there had still been so much he had wanted to do and so, naively, he had grasped onto any lifeline he could, leading him to exactly where he was today. Here. With his name printed in a history book and a young girl calling him one of the good ones without the slightest idea that she was sitting before him.
