Amelia was altogether worried about Troy now. She hadn't seem him since the evening before, but she knew his job had him out at strange hours of the night and day. It wasn't unheard of for someone to be seriously injured in his line of work, so as the thoughts rushed through her head, Amalia found it hard not to worry about Troy. However, he sensed her worry and was quick to tell her that he assumed the man was fine. Good. At least he hadn't been sent here to tell her that something bad had happened to Troy. If something had, she would never forgive herself. She wasn't sure she could raise this baby on her own.
But after the initially worry had washed over her, she was now curious just who was asking about Troy. He kept to himself mostly, his line of work not offering him too many friends. The vampire introduced himself as Sebastian, a name she had heard vaguely before, not that it truly rang any bells.
What caused her even more alarm was that he was congratulating her. The way his eyes fell to her rounded belly told him that he knew of her condition. How he knew of such things was still on her mind. She tried to offer him a soft smile, unsure if his intentions were genuine or if he wished her harm. Her maternal instincts were already fierce. "Thank you..." She wasn't sure what to say. She wasn't used to people congratulating her. She had thought she and Troy were keeping their pregnancy a secret. If he was telling people, she might need to have a discussion with him about the importance of not telling anyone because the more people the knew, the more in danger her life and her baby's life would become.
Despite the fears that clouded her thoughts, the vampire seemed friendly enough. He didn't act as though he wanted to harm her, he was just genuinely curious about her. "How do you know about my baby?" She tried to be friendly, finding it difficult. Rarely was Amelia this standoffish towards others. Usually she blossomed in a social setting. But this pregnancy had her guard up and she wasn't quite ready to let it down just yet. "Pardon my question...I hadn't told anyone yet...aside from Troy."
