In a singular silent moment, the stormy grey hue of her eyes met the bright blue ones of his, that stare assuring her that he was as aware of her as she was of him, though likely for different reasons. That handsome face and boyish smile, however, do remarkably little to set the lithe witch at ease. After all, so too could she see the damage he had wrought up on the lives surrounding him. Ghosts, after all, did not cling to the living for revenge when they were of a pure heart. Her soprano lit is but softly musing, more to herself than anyone else who might have heard her whispered mutterings. She turned her gaze away from him, her fingers reaching out for her own stemmed glass as her free hand easily organized her deck of ebony rimmed cards. Her intrigue had already left the vampire (for that's what she was quickly able to discern he was) in contemplation of some means to escape both him and the horde of intangible spirits that followed in his wake lest either noticed the true extent of what she was. Communicating with the undead, she'd come to realize, had far greater cons then perks.

Serafina glanced towards the door, her eyes catching his again as he offered her a charming smile - one that she did not return. Quite before she could move, however, the vampire stood and near immediately, a soft sigh reverberated upon the young witch's lips. So much for her escape plan. She hardly glanced towards him, however, as he called the bartender's attention, her chin instead leaning upon the palm of her hand in an almost lackadaisical manner. The stormy hue of her eyes attentively brushed over the bottles that lined the shelves behind the bar, as if they were the most fascinating thing she'd ever seen. It was the mention of her drinks, however, that finally drew Serafina's gaze, the woman well aware of what was to come next. Avoiding him would be all but impossible now. The weight of her eyes landed steadily upon him, the woman unabashedly judging him as he approached her with that faux boyish smile. One manicured brow rose though she kept her skepticism to herself as she commented in some attempt to appear cordial, "Hi." Well, she never said she'd be talkative now did she?

It was the mention of her cards however, that drew her gaze towards the black box in front of her. "From time to time." The woman answered bluntly, that offer to pay for her time at least serving to draw the material girl in. Money, after all, was something that tended to prompt the girl to pause. "Hm...fine." The witch responded after a moment of contemplation. Her slender fingers placed down her martini glass, the girl's painted nails reaching for that box as she tipped it to the side, the cards spilling out neatly into her hand. She glanced at her side as the stranger set his own glass down, clearly intending to make himself comfortable. That outstretched hand and accompanying name momentarily distracted her from her task at hand and, cautiously, she reached her free hand out to place within his. "Serafina Dubois." The witch answered, only to withdraw her fingertips in an effort to better shuffle the cards. It was only once she was appeased with it's apparent lack of order did she fan the deck out, the young woman gesturing lightly. "Pick five cards." She instructed, her entire voice, despite it's near musical lit, remained clipped.
