audette rousseau
How effortless that tease befell the young fae's lips as she watched those shadows behind him blossom and bloom like sentient beings. She watched with an ever-increasing hint of bemusement as his own lips contorted in a small, though nonetheless subtle smile. Audette's head bobbed as she agreed with herself, answering Adrien's question in the process, "Oui, they do." The ballerina was well aware of his gaze upon her, that silence falling between them momentarily as he observed that look of contemplation upon his features. Audette was....hardly prepared for the next words that left his lips, the very weight of them prompted her brows to knit together ever so slightly as he contemplated the very fabric of light and darkness and their duality. It was far greater of a philosophical response then she had anticipated, the young woman merely attempting to tease him for the way those shadows seemed to move upon their own accord. She was aware, of course, of that inky smoke that so seemed to reach out to her, and yet, the ballerina hardly felt it's insubstantial touch upon her porcelain flesh. That brush of his affinity, however, skittered away as his baritone voice faded, that inquiry left hanging there, and yet, Audette hardly rose to the bait that she equally failed to realize he'd even placed.
"You know...I do not think that has anything to do with your control over them." She commented, brushing away his analytical efforts with but a flippant wave of her hand. The girl had never been one to consider deeply anything beyond Ballet. Her body desiring to simply move rather than stare at the stars and...contemplate if the chicken or the egg came first, or in this case, if light and shadow could exist without one another. Thankfully, Adrien hardly seemed to dwell upon that theoretics for long before a bouquet of flowers were thrust abruptly at her. It was almost charming, the awkwardness of the hunter in front of her, even though the suddenness of it all served only to fluster the young girl. She was quick to correct herself, that French dissipating to her accented English as she thanked him for the bouquet, insisting that she quite liked it. They would look lovely within her home and Audette was of the belief that a home was happiest with flowers...and wine...and maybe a freshly made croissant while she was at it.
His inquiry of her plan for the evening, however, was one she was quick to counter, the thought of bubble baths and wine glasses entirely filled her future, or at least it would should he not offer her an alternative. Adrien's comment of it being 'stiff competition', however, prompted a ready laugh to the girl's lips, her head bobbing in warm agreement though she hardly countered it with the same mischievousness she had made an effort to provide him before. Her Hunter, it seemed, had a case of the seriousness, one that she suspected would not be easily broken by excessive prodding. Rather, this time, Audette chose simple patience, it paid off in mere moments as he invited her out to dinner, one that was accompanied by a rare smile. Audette was quick to return that grin, the girl graciously accepting, albeit with a hint of impishness she truly could not help. His insistence at making that night count prompted a small shrug of her shoulders as the ballerina easily danced out of his reach, the girl meandering towards the entrance of the alleyway. Her cheerful demeanor faltered on just at Adrien's comment of being saved. Frankly, Audette was certain she could do without needing to be saved ever again. Sacrosanct had hardly been kind, even if she refused to be chased out by a few bad apples...albeit consecutive bad apples.
Adrien's insistence that she had much to fill him in on, however, prompted an almost soft sigh from the girl. "Oui, I suppose so." She agreed, albeit it without the usual enthusiasm so she faced the world. Audette was hardly one to linger, however, the hunter following quickly in her wake as she spun upon her heels, inquiring after the very place he intended to take her on their date. His offer for tapas, prompted her brow to raise. Frankly, it was a splendid idea for a date, one that quite surprised her. His concern for whether or not she'd heard of tapas, however, prompted laughter from her lips before the girl nodded. "I have heard of your tapas, oui. Tapas sounds...parfaite." She gestured briefly towards the space in front of her, the young girl was entirely willing to all Adrien to lead the way towards those mythical delectable Tapas.
