Her question catches me off guard and my brows lift in surprise as I contemplate how to answer. Finally I shake my head slowly with a sigh as I look down at the shiny surface of the table between us. "No, she doesn't. It's...complicated." I don't know how else to explain. It's not like I'm trying to avoid talking about it, I just have so many things to consider when it comes to Isolt. What we have is difficult to say the least. She trusts me completely and willingly reaches out for me again and again. Her features are so brilliant and alive but she never tells me what she's thinking, how she's feeling. I don't know how she feels about me and I don't want to push her away by asking for something she doesn't feel or something she might not be ready to give just yet. I don't want to risk losing her. She's too precious to me. Yumi's whispered comment makes my lip quirk into a soft smile as I nod my head. "Thank you." I whisper in return, my eyes twinkling good naturedly. When I bring up kindness and how you can trust if it's legit, she considers for a moment with an adorable thoughtful expression on her face before she furrows her brow and asks if I think that's something that can easily be faked. I offer a shrug as answer, letting her finish her thought process. She lets her voice trail for a minute before she finishes, telling me that she thinks it would be hard to fake. I tilt my head, eyes more playful now as I reply. "I do. When you've got eternity to learn though, I think it wouldn't be impossible to fake." Offering her a wink now to let her know I'm not trying to run her off or anything, I smile. "Still, I think it's best to just hope you're right." When I tell her to go get her prey, she moves slowly at first, straightening up her skirt as she moves toward the couple at the bar. I observe with interest, wanting to know how she hunts, noting the infinite grace with which she moves when her mind is focused. So off beat from the shy withdrawn creature I approached just moments before. She purposely bumps into the man and makes him spill his drink, whispering apologies while he curses and complains before moving off to the bathroom. She made it look real enough though, enough to cause me to lift a brow, thoroughly impressed with the display. As the man moves away, she leans toward her target, making it look like two girlfriends exchanging their thoughts but when the girl yawns, she withdraws on cue and moves away just as gracefully. There's more pep in her step this time, my head tilting as I watch her move to the door just as the man starts to approach the woman at the bar once more. Noting her confident gesture, I chuckle under my breath as I get to my feet and move after her. As I slide out the door with her, I move to look into her eyes. "Feel better?" I ask in amusement. |
