This evening I was free. Absolutely free. What a glorious and wonderful feeling this was. I did not have Dark Hunter/Were-Training with Anastasia and Emperor Alexander. The full moon was not out tonight and I did not have to spend my time by myself at the Park. It was hard, sometimes, to be by myself. It wasn't natural for my equine-self, it did not feel right at all. I tried to fill that void with some of the horses that were in the stable, but it wasn't the same. I didn't have to stay behind and work until closing time at the Inner Sanctum. Apparently Alex was quite content to allow me to have the early hour shifts at the café. I mean, I had to be up early any ways to feed the horses and clean the stable, so I was already bright eye and bushy tail in the morning. Besides, it wasn't difficult to notice that the other barista, Alexis, was the one to stay behind and lock of shop, and who really knew how long she stayed. I didn't judge, it was none of my business. Besides, my solitary lifestyle and non-working hours in the evening allowed me to do whatever I pleased, and for this evening, I spent my time being out in the open. It was Thanksgiving week which mean everyone was doing their holiday shopping, or at least getting ready too, and there were so many damn kids. My god too many children running around.
Here I am, sitting here outside, on a table bench, right underneath a tree. I had taken my time to stroll around the outdoor shopping center, here I am sitting near one of the outdoor restaurants, reading the latest news on my phone. My bright blue-eyes narrowed when I noticed the range of children, of different ages, each behaving in a different way. Something children were behaving well beside their parents, while others were yelling or running around, being a nuisance. God do we seriously need to put birth control formula in our city water, because my god, there are far too many children. I cannot help, but roll my eyes as I slam a fork into some of the salad, and bring it to my mouth as I chew quietly. There was hardly anything interesting in the news to stare intently at my phone, and yet, it wasn't socially acceptable to be alone anyways, especially for a girl like my age. I mean, two tables over I can hear the giggling and 'whispered' gossip coming from a group of girls my age, clucking away like hens. I can hear an odd sound coming from above me, something big was moving around within the tree, and for a moment I glance upwards assuming I'm going to see a squirrel.
To my surprise it wasn't a squirrel at all, but rather a dashing devilish man, barely holding on to the tree. Well, I guess my evening got interesting. As he speaks I casually turn my dial down back to my phone, my eyes briefly going up to scan the area. Within this happy little eating area in the outdoor part of the mall, there was a rather tall man with blazing eyes, scanning the area madly. Of course some of the mothers held on to their child as they looked at him apprehensively. I don't blame them. If I had a money leech, born of my own flesh and blood, I too would want them to remain safe at my side. However, I do not and so my well-being isn't important. However, the well-being of the human squirrel, well it mattered. As the male approaches closer, walking up and down the aisle of tables, I notice that within my salad are leaves from the tree above. Well, that would be clear evidence that something wasn't right, so easily I place my fork to poke through the different leaves, and as if it were cabbage pieces, I take a bite and eat it easily â€" ah my equine self might have just saved this man's life.
Of course I know I could do better, maybe, so when the unknown male got closer I purposefully played with his eyesight, making it less sharp, and at the same time inducing a small amount of pain in the various children all around, which caused them to yell, and for some to run. Slowly I managed to induce pain into the parents as well, and suddenly, everyone was running around, the other vampire, caught within the crowd as everyone clutched themselves or their children, running to get away. Slowly I get up from the table, without looking up to him, shoving my phone in my pocket, as a small smile appeared on my lips as I spoke casually, moving away from him and the chaos I had created, for his benefit.
"Well, there's your distraction, best make a run for it before he finds you."
