To say Amelia hasn't been tempted by Troy's blood would be a lie. It did smell sweeter than life, but Amelia had great control. She didn't let it consume her like some others did. Ever since Amelia was a young vampire, she had been able to work on her control so now, she was rarely tempted to the point of indulging on those temptations. She wished there were some kind of blood substitute that would keep her satisfied, but nothing had been made as of yet. So for now, she kept several "donors" that she housed within her home. Each was given free privileges to do whatever they liked in their free time. She gave them shelter, fed them, and paid them handsomely for their time. She only had a few very set rules: 1. All donors must be 100% human- a genetic test is used to confirm 2. No illicit drugs to be taken â€" ever 3. Illnesses or changes in status (a pregnancy, for example) were to be immediately reported so she could provide medical care and prevent transmission 4. Under no circumstances were her donors to ever donate more than their bodies could handle. Routine bloodwork and medications were given to all her donors to ensure that they could handle the routine donation.
Just as her donors had rules to follow, so did Amelia. Her rules are as follows: 1. She would never bite from her donors â€" blood would be taken via the traditional sense (a needle or a port) 2. She would allow her donors to donate whenever they wanted and they had full right to refuse and she must obey their wishes 3. Her donors were to be well cared for in EVERY aspect â€" nothing would be at their cost and 4. She would honor any requests to leave her service. You see, Amelia was not like most vampires.
The ride to the restaurant is a pleasant one and Amelia is enjoying their light banter. When he askes if this was another vampire hangout, she couldn't help but laugh lightly. "The owners are were creatures. I have many friends of many species. I do not discriminate." She took pride in her ability to be friends with anyone who would let her. She thought of herself as friendly company and she was easy to get along with. Maybe that was why she had so many friends.
He asks about how she is doing and she's hesitant at first. She was nervous, scared even, but she wasn't about to ruin their date with her fears. He deserved better. His words caused a smile to appear on her lips. "Perhaps you should give me your number in case I need your listening services." She said it lightly before asking about his car. She knew that was his pride and joy and she was glad that his car was safe and sound. "I'm quite aware that you are packing...says the stake I bet you have in the back of your pants." She remembered him taking his weapons into the vampire bar and she didn't fault him for it. With blood as delectable as his, she would expect as much.
