Dareios continued on in his methodical steps. One foot, then the other. Inhale, exhale. It was as if he were nothing more than mere machine, chugging along as he was designed to, eagerly down the road. But on the inside, Dareios' mind was awhirl with the day's many issues. He had to figure out a way to sway that old bat commissioner to vote for his proposed tax decrease next week. He was having lunch with the police chief tomorrow to discuss the looming violence between the force and the supernatural community. Aaron requested his approval to attend several antique auctions in the coming weeks -- business had been flat lately, probably because the vampire was so distracted. The only thing that seemed to run accordingly was his drug business. But once established, that didn't take much to operate, outside of the occasional shakedown of a competitor or slaying of an disloyal bookie. So as Dareios was rounding the next block corner, it's safe to say he was was too distracted to notice the likes of a small girl standing on the opposite side of the street. Therefore, he also did not see the blur of her blonde hair as she crossed the road in mere seconds. Instinctively he hauled his slight body to a halt when he felt her cold touch, and turned quickly to find the source of the jab. His dark eyes followed the sound of her light, chirpy voice. But he didn't immediately smile when he saw the small girl. Dareios tilted his head to one side with one slender dark eyebrow raised. He faked a few out-of-breathe huffs at first, until he realized the child was no human. She was vampire, and hardly a child at all. "Hello there." He said, allowing one arm to reach back between his shoulder blades in a short stretch. When she began to trot away, Dareios stood where he was and watched for a few moments, unsure of how to respond. When she spoke again, he smiled and shrugged his shoulders in a defeated way. "Why do you want to play with me? I'm sure you have plenty of friends." Dareios Auerbach | Vampire | Vinyl |
