North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city, the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high-class architecture. The pristine streets are paved with stone and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting - for the right clientele. In the North, every establishment is eager to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - whether it happens to be illegal or merely involves looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allows them the luxuries that the North provides.

Anna-Marie had entirely moved on from the event within the hotel and shifted to the present activity of wandering down the streets. She was only too willing to allow Sebastian to guide if only because walking gave her much more control than that car or plane did. Most things Anna would not indulge in unless it was her idea in the first place. So many decades had passed since the girl last traipsed these streets that there was nothing recognizable until they had reached right up to the very gates of her old estate. Slowly, noting that this was where Sebastian had been taking them, did she wander onto that land.

Those dangerous memories pressed upon the child's mind which had so carefully blocked them out. It was as if Sebastian was no longer there and the rubble was intact and strong in its full prime as it used to be. The people, smells, and sounds so very real but not in the memories that were most dear to her. No, it was that very last memory which had caused the once wise and strong coven leader to vanish into the casing she now was. The mind that was left behind could not handle the destruction it was now being confronted with. All Anna could do was run the path she once had. She knew she had fought, knew she had seen so many burn and perish before barely escaping herself. The weight of that guilt that hit her from the memory was the last straw which Anna-Marie's current mind couldn't take and resulted in the child collapsing in a heap with such a shrill scream escaping her.

In time she would have calmed or perhaps fainted but it was Sebastian who found her and plucked her into her arms to carry her away from the rubble. All the while she continued to mumble until he had settled them upon the earth. Those far off blue eyes turned up at Sebastian at his guiding touch, staring back at him as something within...shifted. That once clear playful eyes that looked back at Sebastian became darker...solid...knowing.

"...Sebastian..." Her once light tone was even in that moment. "Please, don't trust anyone in that coven." A light breeze drifted over them, rustling the foliage around them pulling Anna's attention to glance at their surroundings. When she looked back at Sebastian that original clear far-off look was back and she blinked at the man in clear confusion, tilting her head slightly and in those airy lyrics spoke, "Can we get my present now?"
