Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
"I will praise you for that," Vhal spits out at Sam. Her own anger rises considerably the moment Sam begins to stop fending for herself, she would turn her faerie queen into someone her subjects would respect. You can only love a gentle faerie queen for so long before being taken advantage of. The woman looks back momentarily at the glee Sam was clearly feeling while subjecting the assassin to her worst nightmares and Vhal feels that there is hope yet for the faerie. When Sam refuses to attack her, the witch hauls her forcibly to her feet before stepping away slightly, to avoid the flinging of her arms.
Vhalla growled.
Yes, the assassin practically growled at her friend as she admits to having no reason to attack her. "You are a fool, Sam," her voice rises in anger, her eyes blazing fiercely, "Do you even know who I am? What I've done?" she doesn't wait for a response before she continues. "I am an assassin, you foolish woman, I am a weapon trained to kill and torture, to be hired out for the unwanted jobs," Vhalla snarls bitterly at Sam, her hands balled tightly into fists. "If my master ever found out about you, that I was friends with the faerie queen, he would order me to destroy you," she admits angrily knowing that she now admitted to that being her friend caused Sam to be in great danger.
Feeling the magic beginning to burn beneath her skin, she swallows it down in an attempt to control the flames begging to burst forth through her body. "I will continue to threaten them until you attack me, Sam. Only then will I stop and then I will leave. You won't ever have to see me again either," she says her words still coated with anger, but her voice considerably gentler, an undertone of sorrow touching her voice. When Sam calls her cruel, she flinches internally. Yes, the assassin was cruel and her tactics were less than civilized but it would get her point across eventually. Instead, Vhalla smiles bitterly at the faerie taking a step forward, "I am cruel, it was how I was born and bred. You let a stranger into your home that night, covered in blood that clearly did not belong to her," Vhal comments referring to their first meeting.
"You need to learn to protect yourself from me because one day, whether you're my friend or not, my master will find out about you and he will order your death by my hand," she says coldly, knowing it in her heart to be true. "I cannot deny him, Samantha. I am bound to him for life." Taking another step towards the faerie aggressively, she reaches into her suit at her thigh and withdraws a dagger, specifically made for Sam commissioned by Vhalla. A gift, perhaps, if it were on better terms. Reaching out, she snags Sam's hand and wrenches her hand open before sliding the intricately designed dagger into the faerie's hand.
The blade is serrated on both sides to provide maximum damage and light enough for the faerie to wield at high speed. Moving back a pace, Vhalla falls into a defensive position, "Before this night is over, you will attack me," Vhal whispers calmly, her rage subsiding slightly. Then she moved. Quicker than should be possible for the witch, Vhal dives towards Sam sweeping a leg to take out the faerie at her feet again, knowing full well that the way the dagger is positioned in the woman's hand would not embed itself in the faerie. She just needed to piss her off.
