Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

I always thought my steps were rather light for how tall I am but I guess to another vampire, they would seem louder. I guess I'm just used to sneaking up on humans so it's odd to be in the company of another vampire after so long on my own. I'm sure she would have taken the pie and perhaps made a show of putting it in her refrigerator but we both know that she wouldn't eat it. Human food is never as appetizing as the real thing. The moment I got her scent, I knew what she was so I cut right to the chase, tossing the pie in the trash can. I'm not upset or anything. How could I be? It's a store bought pie. It's not like I slaved over it for hours. I'm not a cook. Why cook when there's take out?

She smiles and I'm sure she knows what I am too. After all, not many people would have the nerve to call out a vampire. She replies with her name, Alice Reed. I turn toward her, searching her features as I memorize the name. Most people of this day and age don't give their last name. I smile back as I glance around. She seems unsure about what to call her new home. Sure, it's a little big but mine's nothing to cough at either. What can I say? When you have a lot of years to live, you tend to gain a lot of merchandise and you need more room to put it in. I don't think badly of her for having a big house. That would make me a hypocrite.

"Erik Tolgan. It could use some work on the humble."

My smirk is playful, letting her know that I'm picking at her in good nature, of course. She runs a hand through her hair and moves to the tea kettle, which is now whistling. I glance over, watching absently as she moves to pour herself a cup. At her question, I nod.

"I would, thanks."

I murmur politely. I catch her accent, one brow lifting in interest. Not many would pick up on my norse accent but then, you'd have to be from a very old world to catch it. She fills two cups and puts some condiments in her own, leaving the one intended for me plain. My lips twitch with amusement, but even if she'd asked, I would have told her to give it to me strong. I note that she puts the condiments close by but I don't move to grab any. She moves to the table and sits down, sipping her tea so I grab my cup and sit down across from her, taking a polite sip of my own. She takes a few more sips before setting her cup down and then looks at me. I tilt my head expectantly.

At her question, I shrug.

"As well as can be expected. There are a lot of young ambitious hunters around and they make life interesting but other than that, everything is mostly quiet. Most of the big businesses are owned by vampires and the rest is usually owned by weres. Humans just seem to live here sparsely."

I hope that's satisfying enough for her. She thinks a moment before turning back to me and this time she gets into more personal territory. I'm a very private person but she seems harmless enough so I sigh softly and lean back in the chair after taking another sip of tea.

"I'm a mystery. When I do something, usually no one knows my motives except me. I live by myself and I hunt by myself. I've managed to tame the sun. I like my tea strong and my women smart. What about you?"

I raise a brow in daring. I shared a little in my own opinion. What can she share?
