Anacosta Heights
Dupont Circle
Hawethorn Village
River Dale
Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.
Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.
Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.
River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.
Dorian AragonaHis Majesty
He had hardly considered, in that moment, that his silence might so upset the woman more than anything he might have had to say. Dorian so taking those passing minutes to better consider those words he wished to convey- the man hardly prone to outbursts in any sense- so many years upon his throne having afforded the Monarch with the distinct ability to choose his words with sense as opposed to emotion in most instances. The two often difficult to separate and yet perhaps this was the first instance in which his heart and mind had ever truly been conflicted, the first time in all his many long years of life he had been forced to choose and indeed perhaps he had done that poorly tonight. Dorian not yet having considered such things and yet in that moment, in that second, he had sided with Sebastian almost instantly. He had hardly needed any thought and for perhaps the first time in some many years he had been rash in his judgement, he had not truly given Samantha a chance to explain and yet such outbursts over dinner were outside his ability to understand in turn. The entire evening, it seemed, a debacle of misunderstanding from the beginning, Dorian so continuing over her attempts to tell him he need not apologise once he had begun. The man assured he need do just that. After all, a gentleman always did admit when he as wrong or indeed when he had inferred some displeasure upon a lady.
Her explanation of her work with emotions was a curious thing, the man given to consider how...overwhelming perhaps that well could be, especially so considering how this evening had progressed and that wealth of emotions she had surely been privy to and yet.....did this mean she knew how entirely he felt about his consort? Did she know that Sebastian was hardly a passing fancy for the Fae King? Had she felt that undeniable love he himself had only so recently admitted to feeling for the man? How unfortunate it might be to so be unable to keep such things to himself and yet too- it was hardly her fault, one could not always choose the gifts bestowed upon them. Dorian allowed such thoughts to pass for now, the man instead turning his attention to that tale Samantha had begun to tell. This mention of another vampire and a child at that saw Dorian's own gaze widening in surprise. Sebastian never having mentioned a child- had he a daughter? Dorian so given to consider that Sebastian had, in fact, never mentioned any other vampires at all, friends, relatives or otherwise and yet until this very moment Dorian had hardly considered it. After all, with age so often came the loss of family or friends to that inevitable hold of mortality. Dorian having assumed that like himself Sebastian held few ties to any other and yet surely....had Sebastian a daughter he would have mentioned it by now? Dorian hardly concerned with such a thing were it true and yet, still, some part of him was inclined to believe that was not the case, not in this. Why would a child so command a fully grown man to do anything against his will? More so, why had Sebastian been forced to commit some act that even Samantha herself said he had not desired to do?
"You say you are assured this action was against his will and he in turn assures me he was attempting to protect you and yet this leaves only this child. I have never seen Sebastian wield any ability to hold another in any fashion as to render them immobile, thus it must be the other. Why would he so allow himself to be commanded by a child?"
It is this single wondering that seems to hold his thoughts, Dorian an eternally curious being, the man incapable of being otherwise and yet for now at least he so returns his attention to Samantha alone, his hand moving to rest atop her own in some soft display of affection and indeed some attempt to assure her further that he was hardly upset with her, not any longer in the least.
"It is the venom he possesses that affords that feeling of....pleasure. He has told me that it is not a thing all vampires possess, the bites of some are painful, others are not, others hold other affects but that is the power of his venom in particular. I did not understand the situation, though I do now, at least more so. I understand why you would be afraid of this, even I find it confusing and I will speak to him about it, I promise you that. I will try and find out what happened that night. You don't need to apologise, it is over now but I...."
He paused once more, the Monarch considering those words again with care before continuing.
"I am sorry it happened to you. What I know of Sebastian is a little different to what it seems occurred that night and who this child is I have no idea and I know it will mean little to you but you need not fear Sebastian. That I promise you though whether you choose to believe it I cannot say. I think it has been a long evening and I will leave you to sleep now but thank you for telling me what happened. The night is over now, we need not worry of it any more tonight. I find myself terribly fond of you regardless. Goodnight, Samantha."
