Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

It was that truly deliberate 'hmm' that passed the vampires lips that attracted his own attention in turn, Dorian allowing one silver eye to arch upwards in a vague inquisitive gesture, the man wholly curious as to just what his lover so seemed to be considering in those moments. Dorian oblivious to any notion that his consort might well be plotting the disorder of his own household staff through some determination to befriend them through his own methods of politeness. He attempts then, to offer at least some explanation for what Sebastian so referred to as 'overzealousness' in the case of his servants. Dorian wholly unable to prevent that chuckle that fell from his lips though even he was so willing to admit his household, as a whole, could be truly overwhelming at times! He had spent the past few centuries doing very little, they, in turn, had spent just as much time attempting to at least look busy even despite their King having next to no affairs to attend too or guests to visit or events to host. They were, Dorian supposed, simply delighted to have someone to cater to and something to do- so much in fact, that they were very near running to complete it. As if rushing about might somehow allow them to catch up on centuries of idleness. As long as his own needs were met however, the Monarch saw little need to correct them, offering Sebastian an explanation instead for the variety of teas before him, his eyes rolling softly, even playfully, at the vampire's muttered assurance that tea was not that simple. Ah, these English and their tea! It was, he suspected, entirely that simple- the English were merely fussy and yet this he hardly chose to voice, amusement tainting his features all the same at even the thought before that plate of pastry took his attention.

How glorious it was to find food with taste served within his palace once more! Surely he would need pay a visit to the kitchens at some point if only to see to it the staff had what they needed once more and too- to see just which of his staff still remained after all this time. One or two more notable faces having been absent during his arrival and yet whether they were merely delayed through sleep he hardly knew. His attention returns to that plate the moment he has finished his own, selecting that longer shaped pastry from it to offer towards his consort in turn, knowing well the man's preference for chocolate. His head nodded in assurance, another simper tracing his features in delight at his lovers own surprise and subsequent enjoyment of the snack before he moved to offer some apology in the least for his own abruptness downstairs. It was curious, really, just how aware of his lover he had become. Dorian so often and so effortlessly picking up upon Sebastian's moods even when his lover so attempted to conceal them, the Fae assured his companion had felt at least a moment of discomfort even if he had hardly intended to cause it. That simple flick of the vampires wrist however readily seemed to assuage his concerns, those toying notes to his words earning his lover yet another gentle roll of his eyes.

"I feared he might try to put you to work as he did the others. Though I am not uninclined to admit I so prefer you near me then away from me."

Sebastian leaned forward then, his lips finding Dorian's own in a gesture that was readily returned, the Fae so remiss to have his lover lean away to offer those pleasing words of affection. The Monarch so determined to see what else he might coax out of his lover as he lent forward himself- only to be paused by that knock at the door and the subsequent entry of the aged, stooped little man. There was truly no explanation for the fellow, at least, not outside of an apology. Geoffrey having been part of the royal household for centuries and yet his age these past few years was truly beginning to show. Dorian highly unsure whether the man could either see or hear correctly and yet it hardly seemed to stop him peddling his medieval cures. The Fae King having learned much from Elizabeth's text books. He had not understood terribly much of it and yet he had learned enough to so be assured that this sort of medicine (as he had long suspected) was entirely ineffective, especially upon those of immortal breed and yet he hardly had the heart to dismiss the little man from his staff entirely. The Fae King resigned to this momentary examination with little intent to consume such a beastly sounding drink, Dorian merely nodding to appease him before finding himself readily amused at the fellow's attempts to locate Sebastian's pulse. Geoffrey so evidently unaware the man he examined was a vampire.

That dubious look upon Sebastian's features and too that glance Dorian is afforded sees the Monarch struggle again to maintain a look of falsified seriousness, his consort continuing to sit politely all the same- even as that physician so declared him to be 'not lively enough' something that would surely be cured by the sun and a non-taxing walk. The vampire's thanks but a moment later for such astute advice seemed to delight the ancient man entirely, the fellow standing perhaps a little straighter at so having his work recognised. This alone seeming to have endeared Sebastian towards him entirely. Dorian seemingly ignored in favour of his companion. I shall take my leave then. You must remember though, twice daily and briskly at that before resting. You must not excite his Majesty to much though, he is off delicate constitution, his whole family was. It was with the Monarch's own offer of thanks then that the little man took his leave, surely to return to bed, the door no sooner having closed behind him then Dorian so found that chuckle at last slipping from his lips.

"I am sorry Mon Cher, he has been here a terribly long time and I've not the heart to be rid of him. He means well. Although I think he may well have hastened the deaths of some over the years."

There was a time, after all, when none had known better and such cures as those his physician still peddled were forthrightly believed in. Some, perhaps, held some benefit and yet for the most part even Dorian is assured they were ineffective. Despite all Geoffrey's efforts his sister, his Mother and one brother had all been lost to the plague. Maybe it was some mercy that the man had so unintentionally perhaps hastened their deaths with his efforts. Such disparaging thoughts are cast aside however in favour of those more entertaining desires. They still had some hours yet before the rise of the sun and too that inevitable arrive of this 'Prime Minister' he had not so much as met. Dorian so desiring to show his lover more of his home, or at least, those parts that had been refurbished and held none of the dust of centuries past as so many rooms surely did.

"Come, once you have finished your tea I should like to show you some of my home- we can walk briskly if we must- for your health."

His voice so readily held those teasing tones, Dorian shifting abruptly from the vampires reach lest he so attempt any retaliation for such cheek. The Monarch allowing his lover to finish his tea before so extending his hand to the man to help him to his feet. It would not take his palace long to so discover his nocturnal schedule and as such he was content to enjoy but this one evening in which most were still asleep ad Benito was otherwise occupied with business other than seeking to organise Dorian himself. With Sebastian at his side once more the Fae King so pressed upon those doors, slipping out and into the hall atop that grand staircase, the man paused but a moment to wave over two of the maids whom stood outside, stepping away from Sebastian to whisper to those staff alone, both bowing politely before heading into the apartment. The Fae King returning then to Sebastian's side with a wholly knowing look.

"Something pleasing for when we return."

He assured simply, quite content to leave the vampire to wonder before leading him towards that marble staircase to head down just one level below and onto the fourth floor. This floor, like the others, was entirely cast in that glorious polished marble and trimmed in gold, door after door leading from that hallway in any number of rooms though in truth few of them held little interest to Dorian, the vast majority of them having handles layered in dust that the Monarch chose, for now, to simply ignore as he walked slowly on- allowing Sebastian any amount of time to so pause and inspect else simply touch that cool marble or examine those artworks that adorned the walls. The vampire's abrupt halt seeing Dorian pause in turn, curious to see what had so grasped his lover's attention.

"I did not desire for you to see that in the least. I shall have you know that long hair was, once, very much in fashion for men as were tights."

Of all those paintings that adorned the walls Sebastian had so managed to find one of Dorian himself. The Fae King looking just as he did now save for that long dark hair that reached all the way to his shoulders, his form adorned in a bright white and gold doublet and a pair of dark tights as he stood, so clearly posed with sword in hand. The man feeling his face grow ever so slightly warm at his lover so seeing such a painting that he understood now, to be so horrendously outdated. Tights having now become nothing short of women's wear! Dorian allowing the smallest touch of amusement to find his features all the same before tugging at Sebastian's hand if only to move him past that painting before he could query it too much, else commit it to memory. It was that very last door, at the end, with two guards in full armour so standing outside that Dorian headed for, nodding to each in turn as they opened it to reveal a set of stone stairs behind that led obscurely downward in a spiral pattern. The Fae King stepping easily forward once more, seeing little need to inform his lover of just where they were going.
