Anacosta Heights

Situated above the daily life of the city, Anacosta Heights is a tucked away suburb featuring extravagant neo-gothic inspired mansions. The inhabitants of this neighborhood often show their overwhelming wealth with sports cars lining their long, circular driveways, large pools, and manicured gardens. The homeowners of Anacosta Heights treasure their privacy as seen by the high iron gates to the security personnel present at every entrance.

Dupont Circle

Dupont Circle is a small suburban neighborhood settled within the serene portion of the southern portion of town. These four-bedroom, single-family homes feature back yards, porches, garages, and far more breathing space then the Village offers. This neighborhood often is more family orientated and even has organized events for children and the neighborhood as a whole.

Hawethorn Village

Settled in the middle of downtown, Hawthorn Village consists of several victorian inspired row houses just off the main street. Due to it's convenience to just about everything, the village can be a tad expensive to live within. However, the residents of this neighborhood often have two to three-story townhouses, often with a one to two-car garage. Many of the houses feature bay windows and/or rooftop terraces with a small fenced-in 'yard'.

River Dale

River Dale primarily consists of apartments that, despite their age and industrial appearing interior, still hold to the Victorian history that permeates the town. These apartments are often the cheapest option and sport scuffed, older wooden floors, open floor plans, visible beams, and the occasional brick wall.

you could rattle the stars.
you could do anything,
if only you dared

As she lays there, the grass wilting and dying beneath her smoldering body; she's entirely unaware that she was, in fact, calling upon that heat without knowing it. Her features are drawn into a frown, one hand tucked behind her head as she inspects those clouds; spring was well on its way, it was only a matter time before the blistering heat of summer hit in full force. Still, as Dorian beckons to her, she draws herself into a seated position again lifting her hand, narrowing her brows at the chain of flowers, she's surprised as Dorian slips it onto her wrist. She only has a moment to admire it before it begins to wilt and wither away. Its only then that she notices her body is steaming. Mouth open, she inspects her arms, watching as that vapor billows off her. How had she not noticed?!

When Dorian begins speaking again, Vhalla drops her hand to her side as the flowers fall apart in its wake, disappointment lining her features briefly â€" they were rather pretty daisies. Still, she focuses on Dorian her features impassive for the time being as she ponders over his statement. He was... correct. The assassin had a difficult time accepting that he knew far more about her affinity than she was willing to admit to even herself. Still, her eyes narrow as she rolls the thoughts across her mind, tucking them in a corner until she could later dwell on them without the prying eyes of anyone else.

"I've never been able to create a flame out of anything except anger and... fear," it didn't hurt that she could admit that to Dorian, right? Even then, Vhalla squirms a bit in her seated position, her crystal eyes darting away from the faerie King. It was rather difficult to admit to her shortcomings. She hardly ever admitted she was afraid of anything; but there was far more fear bottled up inside of her than she was willing to let on. When she glances back at him, his gentle smile relaxes something inside of her; she rather liked this Dorian, he was far more laidback and easier to be around. Something that Vhalla never thought she would see. Still, she liked him, if a bit grudgingly.

As her body still smolders, she glances down at the now dead grass circling her. She does as he commands, her eyes fluttering close as she takes a deep breath, envisioning that she was drawing that flame and heat back inside of her. And slowly, her body becomes less hot and the soft breeze feels almost cold on her arms. It's only when Dorian praises her and claps at her progress does she open her eyes, a faint smile tugging on her lips. Perhaps, she could do this! That faint smile widens as she inspects her arms; no steam and the ground about her was beginning to cool to the touch again.

Her gaze is drawn back to the faerie king as he leans back into the grass once more in that casual position. Flashing a broad smile at him, she folds her arms over her chest, "When I'm concentrating it's easier to draw it back in but it's harder to call on that fire," she admits as she turns her thoughts inwards, pondering in silence for a moment before Dorian breaks her concentration. Shrugging briefly, her stomach growls as she plants a hand on her abdomen, "I'm always hungry after I use my magic," she complains, "Is that normal?" Pushing her hand farther into her stomach until the noise stops, she leans her weight back onto her palms, letting her legs unfold to extend them, head tilted back as she watches the clouds again.

It only just dawns on her; eyes rotating back to Dorian in the grass, "Will you show me? Maybe it will help me," she asks, not entirely sure Dorian would be willing to share his powers with her. Letting her attention slide away from the faerie, she glances out at the still empty park, it would be filling up soon, the morning was getting later and she didn't want to be caught failing miserably at her powers by someone. But, the morning wasn't quite over and she still had a little time to practice. She had made more practice with Dorian than by herself. "It feels like a pool in here," she points to her abdomen, "I can always feel it. Even when I have... lost control I have never touched the bottom, I've never expended all my magic. And that... scares me," she admits, her eyes trained on the other end of the park, not daring to glance at Dorian.
