The notion that caring for children would become similar to muscle memory merely saw one eye lift just so. Frost rather sure it was not nearly that easy. The often-guarded man struggling in some sense to express those unusual touches of emotion that threatened to beset him in those moments. Children were wholly innocent beings after all, the stallion inclined to find some sense of comfort in that notion. Children, at this age, hardly judged. Their emotions were simple, easy and dictated by single want alone. They acted on instinct, they were easy to understand even without engaging that power for thought he possessed. They were...peaceful beings at large and the man found that entirely pleasant on some level. Even if he feared disrupting that peace by upsetting them somehow. Such a thought had no sooner crossed his mind that that splashing begun, his efforts to avoid it seeing his shirt suffer all the same, his lips pulling into a slight scowl of dismay and yet irritation hardly seemed to afflict him when in the company of those babes. Frost possessing an ability to remain utterly unconcerned when in their company. That promise not to bring harm to them remaining steadfast even if his temper had flared for those others Nadya cared about. His protection, it seemed, encompassing those children alone.
The woman's words on the difference between upset and harm merely saw him glance towards her. Her words were sensible and yet for all his ability to lead, to command armies, to be the very thing he was trained to be seemed to falter in the presence of those children all the same. His experience with them was limited. That part of his life so fraught with memories he hardly cared to revisit that this alone surely afflicted him to some extent. He did not desire to remember. Even if he desired to try with these children as he had not been given the opportunity to do before. Frustration tugging slightly at him, those quiet words softly uttered in that ever cool voice.
"If I am going to be present for all of these moments to upset them- does that mean you're finally coming home with me?"
How long could she continue to dance between those two packs? There was only so long he could wait. Hadn't he waited long enough? His business was done with Tetradore entirely and in every sense. He had no need nor reason to ever cross into the West again. His point had been made with the mans death and perhaps, Tetra had made his own point with that revival on some level. Nadya merely lingered between them. Frost uninclined to allow it to be as such. He wished for nothing to do with that pack anymore, though indeed he hardly desired to prevent Nadya from seeing them ever again. He was hardly going to deny her that right to see her family. More so, he simply desired that she choose, at last, just where she was going to reside. He was offering both herself and her children a life her previous pack had not. She need only take it and free them all from this. A soft snort of amusement left his lips at the notion it was a 'friends' shirt. The stallion near considering asking just what sort of friend, a flare of....something flickering within him at the thought. Stallions, after all, were possessive by nature. The man silencing it for now all the same at the idea he could wear or not wear anything he chose. The boy lifted into her arms now, Nadya assuring him he could wait in the living room else come to the bedroom. Frost merely nodding softly as the trio wandered from the room.
One hand lifted idly to run through that snowy hair, a sigh of sorts on his lips. The man never quite having pictured that he might ever end up with some sort of....family, fractured though it was. His Mother would have had a fit at the idea of a panther as his companion. The faintest of simpers tugging at his lips as he moved to pull that wet shirt from his frame- laying it over the towel rack before wandering quietly to the children bedroom. His arms folded across his chest as he leaned easily within the door, hardly treading any further into that unknown territory. Leaving them to be with their mother as he merely watched over.
"Isn't it a little early for them to sleep?"
